Why don't we just have England lose... then we just need to draw and won't have to worry about goals scored. Plus it would be fun to hear all the bitchin from England...

No. USA advances if either:

a) They beat Algeria, or
b) ties Algeria while England ties Slovenia but has a total goal count that does not exceed that of the US' by 2.
The bold is incorrect.

They will advance if Slovenia and England tie and England finishes with fewer total goals than the United States.

Thought you guys who love soccer would enjoy this....
LOL! That's damn funny... I've been watching some of the world cup thinking to myself "wow, I thought the NBA and basketball has some major acting going on!" At least I hope there is major acting going on in the world cup tourney, otherwise some of these guys are frickin' wimps holding their faces when they barely get touched etc, etc... :crying:

Ya it would be funny. Did any one else see what was published in one of the UK newspapers when the groups were picked?

England
Algeria
Slovenia
Yanks

So it would be great for me to see England not advance after there were talking about how easy their group was going to be.

OMG!!!! That was AWESOME!!!!!!!

We are the top of Group C. Should have been a 2-0 win, but the officiating sucks with FIFA

If y'all get a chance, try to catch ESPN's 30 on 30 segment of The Two Escobars. Andres Escobar played soccer for Colombia and of course Pablo Escobar infiltrated the league with his endless supply of drug money. Very informative.

That was freaking amazing! Can't believe we got screwed by the refs again. Thankfully, we kept playing and gave ourselves NUMEROUS chances throughout the game and finally got one in the back of the net. I was a little worried about Demerit running the D early, but he played a great game after he got those nerves out. USA! USA! USA!

What a fantastic game and a great day for American soccer. It troubles me we had this much trouble with Algeria but we're still in it baby! Bring on Germany or Ghana, we're goin all the way

A crazy story for sure. It focuses on the 1994 world cup when Andres scored an own goal while playing for Colombia. He was shot and killed weeks later.

You would still advance in with a Tie, but if Germany loses they are out. And that hasn't happened since 1938. I feel for Ganah, because it is never a good day to play Germany ion the Cup
