so $200 for a bundled cigar is the best deal of the year? And you're saying the $300 a box for them with a band and a box is a good deal? I don't see it, even if you do have the pockets.
Bundled or boxed doesn't make a giant difference to me for an $8 cigar, and if it's good, I'll buy more (if I can). Nor do I think $8/stick is necessarily too much for a bundled cigar (would I rather pay $2/stick more for bands and a plain box?). The NHC "ELOs" were great bundled sticks. Johnny-Os are around that price, no bands or boxes ...

Now I will admit that when it comes to something like the Face I wanted the nice collector's box, but if I wanted to get more I'd be fine with just the sticks. But that Monsters are an exception for me, as $13/stick is just too much. For that price I can get Anejo, Opus, Dirty Rat, a big PAM, or a nicer Habano.

For as much praise as the Tenderloin has received as an LE stick $8 seems like a good deal. I can still go out and find EPC Short Runs. The Same can't be said about the Tenderloin. I'd be hard pressed to find J21's for $200 a box and they are a regular production stick. There hasn't even been a confirmed price on the BR Anni yet so I guess this is all a mute point.
True, but there were 108,000 EPC Short Run cigars released, and only 5000 Tenderloins released. So the EPC would be much easier to find even if the Tenderloin was a dog rocket.

$250 a box out of state, with 25 per box. $10 a stick is quite reasonable...but I'm still broke at the moment.
Ditto....

I gave "keeping up" a good run the past few weeks...:roundtheh

but am in serious need of a self-imposed time-out. Perhaps a long one. :crosseyed

I just talked to Jose the other day at G-street Cigars and he did confirm that the Meat Locker would not be coming out in 2010. He said 1st Qtr of 2011 is when it would drop...The only size that they've agreed on is the Porkchop, and that the blend had been 'tweaked' to make it stronger. The other three sizes have not been decided upon yet.

March deadline? 5 months with still little idea on the sizes? I think they will be late. I bet late summer early fall.

Living in NYC, I'm going to try and head down to the shop for the Barclay cigar. I'm quite scared of what the in state cost is going to be, though. Damn NYC taxes.

Anything other that late 2011 at this point....if it's true they haven't locked down sizes/blends.....would be rushed to market IMO. That doesn't usually end well when that happens.....

Assume they will take the time to put the quality into the production (top to bottom) once the blends/vitolas are decided upon......at least I hope they do.

And that'll give me a nice long time-out as well....LOL!

I won't be buying ANYTHING until Friday, and then I'll be paying for a box split I'm on, so nothing too exciting then either. Then I think I'm taking a long break from the buying so I can do some more SMOKING!!

I need a 2nd job. Or 3rd.

They are taking pre-orders now. Boxes should arrive Tuesday and shipped as well. CC's wont be charged until they ship.

Your statement is just fine as it's your opinion, but from visiting the My Father factory in the Spring, we all saw how much tobacco Pepin has aging/resting for future cigars. Pete can usually turn around a cigar from idea to launch within 4 or 5 months with no issue for the most part if it's tobacco they have had already. I personally know a cigar he has done took just under 4 months from the idea to being completed and boxed because it was based off another blend and he could simply grab from their tobacco stock that has been resting already.

Now would these cigars benefit from resting a few more months once purchased? Absolutely... but I think most of them taste pretty damn good fresh too :)
