• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Recommendations for a soft flame lighter?

Yeah, I really like that Ivory one. Does anyone know where it is in stock?

    Locker fees at B&M....

Good price? Hell, it sounds dirt cheap to me. Most of the places that I know of charge in multiples of $100. I'd grab it.

Recommendations for a soft flame lighter?

You may have a more sensitive nose and palate than I, but personally, I believe that is urban legend, especially if you use Zippo brand lighter fuel. Some friends and I tried some blind tests to see if any of us could tell the difference between the same cigars lit with lighter-fluid filled...

    Airplane Travel and Travel Cases

Under recent TSA changes, you can carry soft flame lighters (Bic's, Zippos without Zplus inserts, etc.) on the plane. You can carry cigar cutters and punches on the plane. You should always carry your cigars on the plane to keep them from disappearing. You can pack torch lighters in checked...

    Cigars vs Pipes?

Different smokes fo' different folks... :music:

    Just picked up this torch.....

Palios, Xikars and Swiss Army Knives are generally considered the best cutters. Which one is best depends on personal opinion. Based on an unscientific count, it appears to me that Palios generally get more votes than the other two, but you can't really go wrong with any of them. If possible...

    Cigars vs Pipes?

Simple: I never smoke flavored tobacco, whether you are talking about cigars or pipes. Well, that's a slight exaggeration: I'll smoke maybe a couple of Drew Estates Javas over the course of a year, just as a change of pace. But that's all. IMO, flavored cigars generally suck big time, and...

    Please help me decide

Depends on your flavor preferences. To me, the DPG Blacks are more peppery than the Tat Reds. Personally, I'd buy the DPB Blue Labels or Series JJ Maduros, but hey, that's just me.

Recommendations for a soft flame lighter?

That is one sweet looking lighter. Where is the best place (price) to get one?

Recommendations for a soft flame lighter?

I like a soft flame indoors and a torch outdoors. The soft flame isn't as hot, covers a broader area, and it is more affected by airflow than a torch. Try lighting a cigar with a disposable butane lighter like a Bic, and you'll see the differences. Then it's a question of personal preference...

Recommendations for a soft flame lighter?

I always have one of the minis as a back-up. Takes up a lot less room than a can of Vector! :rolling:

    Palio or Xikar?

Welcome to the club, son! :guitar:

Recommendations for a soft flame lighter?

Zippo. If you want soft-flame butane instead of lighter fluid, get a Vector Thunderbird insert. Also, Nibo makes some nice, inexpensive roller lighters that look a lot like the classic Dupont/Dunhill/Cartier lighters. Cheap, look great, work great.

What is your most desired cigar?

Not actively pursuing it right now, but I do on the two times a year when they are available: Fuente Anejos, and Sharks (#77's) in particular.

    Hoyo De Monterrey Excalibur Legend

Haven't tried it myself, but I've seen fairly negative posts on other cigar boards. :hanghead:

    Cameroon Cigar Delema

Fuente describes it as Natural, but according to websites like JR's, the wrapper is actually Cameroon. I started looking into it after smoking one. I normally smoke maduro, and occasionally candela, 8-5-8's. So, when I smoked a natural, the taste was really noticeable, and I thought, "Hey...

    Palio or Xikar?

First, wipe the cutting edges down with a Q-tip dipped in alcohol. There is probably a 90% chance that will fix it. Second, if that doesn't work, send it back to Xikar. Xikar gives a lifetime warranty and backs it up with admirable customer service. You'll get a brand new cutter in short...

    Cameroon Cigar Delema

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the Fuente 8-5-8 :scratchhe . I have always thought of it as the Poor Man's Don Carlos.

With what do you accompany your cigar?

Always water. Usually, in addition (in descending order of frequency :glassesgr ), iced green tea, dark roast coffee (hot or iced), vodka, Irish whiskey, amber rum, or Scotch. The green tea is in the probably fictional hope that the antioxidants in it will help to minimize the chances of...
