• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Villiger just lost my business

So let me get this straight... People are defending this sort of thing now just because there's other companies with more unethical business practices? What kind of BS is that? It's one thing when you don't know better but to be naive when you've been enlightened should hurt your soul. I don't...

    Smokers

If you ever smoke a whole bird I highly recommend cutting out the spine so you can open the bird up in the smoker. It's actually really easy to do though the store can always do it for you. Cuts down on cooking time and I think the meat picks up a deeper and more even smoke. Brining is also a...

Let me see them man caves

Lol that's most likely temporary. I'm debating whether I just want to do that laminate flooring stuff or not. I'm being indecisive so it's kind of put the project on hold for the moment. The couch was a sweet deal though so I jumped on the opportunity. Backwards I know lol

Let me see them man caves

Still working on the finishing touches so this is only a pic of half the space. Did the walls in Spanish cedar though and it smells amazing!! Now I'm working on ideas for things made out of cigar boxes. Thinking shelving and maybe a coffee table.

    Four kicks black belt buckle

Smoked one yesterday. A few weeks to get better acclimated will benefit these but otherwise they're very good.

    Orchant's Inca Secret Blends

I've smoked a few different cigars with Peruvian leaf (MBombay's lines) and I don't think they were much over medium strength. Obviously there's more that factors into a blends strength though and these weren't puros either so take it with a grain of salt.

    Homebrewers - Whats Fermenting?

Cool so sort of an APA hopping schedule(aside from the bittering addition) with a lager yeast. Im not sure why I expected less hops. Definitely going to give something similar a go.

Im not sure what his whole lineup is but I know he's probably got around 10 different super hot varieties along with tons of other stuff. Ive heard great things about Douglahs though so I'll definitely pass the word along.

Recommend some craft beer to me

Weyerbacher Heresy - surprisingly one of the best barrel aged stouts IMO Anderson Valley - any of their barrel aged stouts Rogue Mocha Porter Weihenstephan Hefe or Vitus- oldest brewery operating since 1040 so pretty much anything they make is great, but especially the Vitus and the Hefe...

    Big Green Egg...yay or nay?

The place next door to our nano uses a BGE for just about everything. The food is always good and the smoke flavor is on point but I know first hand there are cheaper options out there that are just as good if your only looking for a grill or smoker. My smoker for example is like half the price...

    Smokers

Im a big fan of these smokers... http://www.smokin-it.com Had mine about 2 years now IIRC, got it on recommendation of a few other BOTL and couldn't be happier with it. I just smoked a turkey and a ham for Thanksgiving which came out great and my ribs always turn out spot on. One of these days...

    This years pepper plants 2015

Was given a few treats grown by my buddy in Rochester and thought they were rare enough to merit posting some pics. I've harvested at least 40 pods off my plant so far but nothing this badass. Chocolate moruga scorpion, next to a red for comparison and a broadleaf maduro again for color...
