• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

'13 PSD5. Love the profile but the construction is just annoyingly terrible. My home rolls burn more evenly.

    Adventures in home rolling

As soon as your done rolling the cigar test the draw. If it's too tight undo it and roll it looser before the glue dries. If the draw is good when your done it won't be too tight once the cigar dries. And hell I leave the midrib in all my filler leaf. It's frog legged of course so it's not the...

Cigar History - El Gato Cigar Factory Key West

I was in the old El Gato factory(ironically the building our state health department is in) a few days ago and thought other people might enjoy some of the history they keep around to honor its roots. This is the famed factory a young Fuente once worked in before establishing his own legacy...

Try wetting it down then leaving it in a ziploc overnight. The moisture will be nice and even and I think its a lot easier to work with. Wet and stretchy without being too soggy. Works well with binder too you just spray less DW in the bag.

    Tatuaje Pudgy Monster Jason Recommendations?

I'd sample some of the other stuff he's put out wrapped in broadleaf as well. Pete does great stuff with broadleaf like the cigar your talking about for example. Its basically a Fausto/Avion with a broadleaf wrapper so both options are probably up your alley.

It definitely helps. How long are you giving the wrapper to come up to case?

Probably but the thing is your supposed to cut those out. The "filet" you want is the outer part of the leaf where the veins aren't as thick and are much easier to roll out.

The stems have all the same good stuff the leaf has though. Its pretty cool but rolling the veins out with a beer bottle or small piece of pipe is pretty easy and works well. Like this...

    Homebrewers - Whats Fermenting?

I think he was just saying it tastes better with grists that use a higher percentage of crystal malt(10-20%). Most styles don't use that much but it's appropriate in some, like ESBs for example.
