• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    lookin for lurkers

You're off to an awesome start with the supplies and models to follow, just watch out for the slippery slope. Rolling can be as much fun as smoking, maybe more so in the winter months if you can't smoke inside!

Had my first La Duena, it was very tasty. Tarry goop was coming out the end to be careful of, other than that it was great.

Small batch and leaf prep tonight, blending 1.5 leaves criollo ligero and 1.5 leaves corojo seco. They'll end with Ecuador Ligero wrapper. Tomorrow will swap out corojo with habano seco.

From last night's efforts: The paper wrapped ones I'm trying to press the veins in the wrapper into the cigar to get them as smooth as possible... Edit: spelling corrections

Ahhh, I see. Last night's rolling I managed to get the second part of the cap shiny so if I'd rolled the rest of the wrapper tighter, it would've been shiny also. I need to get the wrapper tighter. Thanks for the guidance!

Fired up a September stick that was 1.5 seco, 1.5 ligero and was very pleased...surprisingly so since there was no viso. The leaves were still from my stash of Nicaraguan LO. I can't remember who posted that recipe but thank you whomever it was, I've added another favorite to keep rolling!

    What are you reading

For you SK fans, I'd recommend his Gunslinger series . The intertwining of his previous work with the world's of Roland and his ka'tet was fun, entertaining , and gripping. I totally enjoyed them over the years as they were published .

    Blend testing

I'm going to try a combo of leaves in the Golden Ratio (.5 ligero, 2 viso, 1 seco) as follows: .5 Criollo Ligero 2 Corojo Viso .5 Habano Seco .5 Corojo Seco I doubled up on the Dominican Binder and wrapped with Ecuadorian Ligero. If they'd burn right now I'd be smoking one instead of posting...
