• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Thank you, he's a German Shepherd and Labrador mix. He likes to see my cigars because it's a guarantee we are going for a walk.

    Pics of Your Sticks

Everytime I see these, they look good enough to eat! Like a real rich caramel treat or something....making me hungry just looking at them! The sound very similar to the DBL press #1157, just a different wrapper perhaps?

A Proposition for All You Homerollers

Yeah, that sounds like mine. They can be cut to length but the tips are at that end and it lights up easier with the shaggy feet so I've never cut them....Weird, I suppose so. But it works for me!:jimlad::cigar:

A Proposition for All You Homerollers

It's funny, this is the first post from @A Huge Nerd that I can't see the picture on. Is that true for anyone else, or is it just me?

    Storage of leaf

Where did you score this @webmost ?

    How to get started?

I've kept my bags of leaves in one of the boxes they shipped in. Just re-tape them closed after opening. No problem so far. As I use the leaf, if I need to I spray some distilled water on them as I set up, then do something else for 30 minutes as it soaks in. No fancy storage needed.

Black Label Trading Co. Lawless - CoM Nov 2016 (Cigar of the Month)

So I'm headed to the airport to pick up family today and found a 'new-to-me' cigar lounge along the way. Seems it's about time to fire up the Lawless for review... The wrapper is smooth as can be, nice sheen to it. I have yet to perfect that on my homerolls... The draw is easy, 54 rg stogies...

    How to get started?

Bunching takes practice. One recommendation I've read is to hold a commercial stick of the ring gauge you are rolling to get a feel for its size in your hand, then bunch. The practice will reveal how tight to bunch for the size you are rolling. As far as that " three hole punch cutter", that is...

    How to get started?

This ought to be required reading: http://www.botl.org/threads/adventures-in-home-rolling.79290/ Then you need leaf, a cutting tool, a working surface (kitchen table is fine unless you're married, then a cutting board on the kitchen table ;)), and something for glue. I started off wrapping the...

I'm still working on what you had recommended, work has been getting in the way again. Enjoy the selection! Besides, you didn't send a Lawless all alone.... Thanks for letting me in on how the mata fina works in the mix!

Ways to hurt yourself while rolling cigars

I wondered about that before. When I cut my palm it was on the spine of my chaveta, there was a previously undiscovered sharp spot on the spine. A buddy made my chaveta and efforts to taper the edges produced a sharp corner. I've since taped the spine, no more sharp edges on the gripping surface.

Ways to hurt yourself while rolling cigars

For sure. I get to roll the most when I'm switching from day shift to night shift. Everyone goes to bed and I stay up as long as possible to force myself to sleep in before working all night. Sometimes I'm falling asleep, sometimes my chaveta is falling on my toe! When I roll in the living room...
