• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

No problem at all. The clear is distilled water. The brown is "mojo" as described by BrewinHooligan, or at least my closest guess of it. Dark rum (aged not spiced), water after soaking in pineapple chunks and being strained through a coffee filter, and some vanilla extract. No scientific...

I like the shaggy foot...and I'm jealous of the rounded head you got on that thing (the cigar guys, the cigar!). I haven't got the hang of that yet...

Where did you find that mold? I've contacted "Custom Cigar Molds" but haven't heard back from them...I'd really like to get a perfecto/figurado mold like that!

It was on an end display. A store employee helped me find it. Apparently it can be used as a thickening agent. I'll take a pic of the package when I get home ...

    Place to start

I started with a 2lb kit from LO. For glue, I'm using arabica gum from the grocery store. $12 seems like it'll be a lifetime supply! I don't have a chaveta (a buddy is making one for me) so I've been using a pocket knife. No added cost there. Our cutting boards are too small for this so I bought...

I don't know what you budget for cigars right now but I just pulled the leaf money from the stogie budget. This means I've not ordered any commercial sticks this month but I'm ok with that. The rolling of my own has been fun, the experimenting with casing, blending, wrapping has been fun, and...

So the binder is always pointed the same way, just sometimes face up, sometimes upside down. I guess it doesn't matter which way it spirals under the wrapper...interesting.

Meaning regardless of which way the wrapper will be facing? Always pointed to the right? Or always the same as the wrapper will be?

I ordered it all from LO. Ec shade Seco wrapper, Dom binder, Nic viso, Nic seco, and Nic ligero. After ordering, I realized I should've ordered only 1/2 lb of ligero to keep the ratio of what I have on hand and what I use the same. That's ok, I'll have some ligero left over. Here's a pic of the...
