  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

    Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Second smoke was an AVO LE09. Great well constructed cigar. Incredibly complex but still had a bit much of the kelner mustyness. By far the best Kelner stick I have but still not my thing. Thanks to Phi Delt for lettiing me try one.

    What size are they. I smoked a few of a couple of different sizes at the festival this year. 2000 wasn't a great year for a lot of the bigger brands but the slr's from 00 were great.     Oh yeah and it depends on the style of culebra. Some have tighter bends then others. The partagas have fairly tight bends but I think it is the don fransisco's that have barely any bend

    I have yet to have one with a draw issue but that it what has me thinking that sticks that weren't intended to be braided would be that much worse.

    The other issue could be that culebra's never seem to be rolled as tight and the braiding of them could create catastophic draw issues.

    Smoked a Noella Yesterday, Now I get it!!

    Was one of the worst cigars I had last year. I had one bad one that no matter what it smoked hot and natsy. I have smoked a dozen truly great ones since then so 12 to 1 says great stick.

    I have had bad luck with the San Christobals. They start of great then at the halfway point they have all turned and gone down hill in a hurry. I still smoke them cuz I really enjoy the first half but have never made it to the last half inch on one.

    Can't blame a guy if he's around the wrong influences. First day of the festival I got 10 in and the plane didn't land until 3. Figure the first 7 hours of the day should have been good for another 4 or 5 if they had let me smoke on the plane.

    The ones I smoked at the festival tasted quite young. They have had another month and a half on them which will have helped. The other thing is at the festival people tend to smoke a lot more then normal which will dullen the taste buds for milder smokes. I always have a time and place for...
