To expand on Heath's post, invest your money in lenses. You're better off with a great lens and an okay camera than you are with a sub-par lens on a great camera.

Pretty much anything Carl Zeiss but you're going to pay for it. Check to see if one of the preset settings on your camera is Background Defocus. That allows you to get some pretty up close shots with great depth-of-field. The Macro lens that you have listed seems like a good lens to me. That...

I actually talked to Adobe about this and LR will still continue to function just as it does. You just won't be able to upgrade it any further.

Better hurry up and buy it because Adobe is doing away with stand alone software and will be charging $40 a month for their cloud service.

Haven't played with that yet. Been using Lightroom. Downside to LR is that doesn't do layers, but there's a suite of products that acts like an add-on to LR that lets do it.

What software are you using to edit?

If you have the ability to edit in layers, you could increase the contrast and tint of the red and/or increase the blacks and shadows.
