• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I tried a few different shapes and sizes. I'm almost finished with the crappy wrapper leaf I have so I can buy some better stuff.

    Figurado October 2018

Sorry, no picture in this post. I just want to say that this thread is amazing. I had no idea there were so my figurados out there. There's something about a figurado that I love to look at. Keep on posting. We're only half way through Figurado October.

    What is your favorite wrapper?

Hey Webmost, I posted the previous response before I saw your reply. While the CT Shade that you have may be the best you've ever worked with, I guess I'm SOL since you already bought everything they had. That's OK though as I do prefer the darker leaf ascetically. You also mention that the...

    What is your favorite wrapper?

I had looked back in other threads and the Ecuador Shade from LO seemed to be the most often praised. The responses so far here are unanimous. I appreciate the input. I would love to hear more suggestions of course. There is the Equador Shade Seco, Viso and Ligero. I understand the they are...

    What is your favorite wrapper?

I'm in the mood to order some leaf. I need a few suggestions on a good wrapper leaf. Specifically, I am looking for a leaf the is easy to work with and looks nice. Flavor is a personal preference but ease of use is probably something that is easier to agree on.

I always struggle with getting a good cap so I sometimes play with other styles for the head. I'm working with Honduras Cuban Seed Wrapper for Whole Leaf. It sucks! It's fragile, thin leaf but it also has thick veins. I find it very hard to work with. I think I'd have better luck with my caps...

Let's see how you store your cigars.

What's happening is that you are trying to maintain RH with methods that are not capable of +/- 0.5%. If you read up on Boveda packs and the sensor you are using and you calculate the cumulative margin of error, you will likley find that the best you can do is +/- 2% at best. It's as good as...

    Boveda vs Beads

Hey Chef, you are one early riser. You must have been thinking about this all night. I agree that beads are less work. Personally, I use kitty litter but the Heartfelt are similar. My advice is to make sure the beads are in a shallow tray to increase the surface area. They will be more...

    marinade ??

I posted this in another thread but I thought it best to start a new one so please excuse the repeat. I just watched a video from the Remixoligist ( ) Two things surprised me. First was the use of a skewer when rolling. I assume this was to help with the draw. Has anyone else tried this? It...

Here's my 2 cents. An Oliva Series O. Not bad... but not great.

I have enjoyed many CC Cuabas but I was not aware that there was a NC version. Who makes it? I have never seen one.

    Western Caribbean cruise and cigars

This is defiantly the right place to post your question. Unfortunately I don't have any useful info for you except to suggest you check out the cigar policy on your ship. Sitting on a cruise ship on a beautiful evening with a cigar is great. I just returned from a cruise and the ship had two...

    Wrapper problem

Thanks for the suggestion. To ship 1/4 lb will cost $35 and to ship a full pound will cost $38. That's why I would like to get all my leaves in one order. Shipping is cheaper at Whole Leaf. A full pound costs $17.

    Wrapper problem

I'm happy to hear that it's not just me that thinks this wrapper sucks. I appreciate the suggestion for the Equadorion Habano from LO but are there any suggestions for wrapper from Whole Leaf? The other leaf in my blend comes from WL so I would rather not pay separate shipping for the wrapper...

    Wrapper problem

I've been using "Honduran Cuban Seed Wrapper" from Whole Leaf. I like the flavor and don't want to change but it is so fragile that I find it very hard to work with. Have others found this wrapper to be fragile? Any suggestions on a replacement that may have a similar flavor profile?
