• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Homebrewers - Whats Fermenting?

Yea just a 5gal pilot. Ive never used raisins either but I figure I'll see what I can pull from a heavy dose of special b in the grain bill. I love the dark fruit character it adds to stouts so hopefully it makes a nice contribution. For the actual cinnamon and raisin Im thinking of boiling them...

    Homebrewers - Whats Fermenting?

Finally getting around to an experiment Ive had on the back burner. Im aiming for a beer that tastes like cinnamon raisin bread. Theres so many ways to approach the different flavor aspects so this will be very hit or miss but hopefully I can figure it out. The good news is the recipe is pretty...

Thats about the gist of what Ive read. Do you or have you ever felt really bloated from the big carb influx on weekends? I know refeeds tend to make me feel crazy bloated for a couple days but after the water sheds back off I look healthier and fuller from the glycogen, not all flat and...

Thats rough! What do your higher carb days look like though? Ive never tried carb cycling like that but a lot of people have success with it. Im thinking of trying it out sometime. It doesn't work with everyones schedule but have you ever tried doing your cardio fasted? Ive been doing fasted...

Thanks man! It takes a little getting used to some of the changes but once you commit to it your there. I think most people know how to eat healthy they just have trouble with proportioning, overall calorie intake, or balancing macro nutrition because we're never taught about it. Learning that...

Coming into the last day of my "hell week" and making solid progress. I realized I never posted my full Wendler template or how I have anything split other than leg day so here it is. All workouts are based off a percentage of 90% of your 1 rep max so the same routine applies to anyone the...

Try 1 part criollo ligero to 3 Corojo seco. Maybe swap out one of the secos for a leaf of Nica habano. Or 1 Corojo viso to 2 criollo ligero. Wrapped in broadleaf they fall somewhere between the profile of a Tat Reserva or a CroMag.

It might not make you the next biggest thing in your state overnight but thats the way we've looked at it. Theres enough examples to look at of others that did it the same way IMO.

    Homebrewers - Whats Fermenting?

Its not quite profitable yet but we own all our equipment and have no debt. So pretty much breaking even while we grow the name. Its a tough location though because we essentially exist within another business(a sandwich shop/bakery/restaurant supply store) so we don't have our own full time tap...

200L Braumeister lol. The space is like 12x12 at best so it works for the small footprint.

Well unfortunately we're still not quite big enough. They really liked our beers, especially my pilot of watermelon Berliner, but said we're still about a step or so away from being ready to work with them. Need more buzz, distro, etc. Almost there, it's going to happen.

Yea most people do them without realizing it but then beat themselves up about it because they see it as cheating. Not really understanding the cravings or looking at the bigger picture of things. I prefer the approach of planning out a good refeed once a month, maybe twice tops, to keep the...

Great work man! Keep a close eye on weeks like this they're the ones that really teach you about your body and show you how to dial things in. Do you ever work in any refeeds?

I've got my latest batch of Berliners ready to come on line. Kegged batch 1 with 3.5lb of blackberries today. For batch 2 I plan on juicing a watermelon then freeze concentrating the juice and adding it to the keg. Still haven't opened a second pack of lacto yet lol.

I'd try increasing the Epsom salt to 1-2 small feedings a month. You can foliar feed but I just mix it in with fish emulsion and water normally(for my peppers).

Quick cheroot of my favorite blend excluding the broadleaf wrapper. 2 parts criollo ligero and 1 part corojo viso. Always on the money.

Try cutting back a little on the water and let the soil dry out a bit between waterings. Should help. These lemons are getting bigger by the day. Can't wait to harvest these babies.

    Videos

I feel like theres a lot of things like that when it comes to cigar rolling. You can tell your not quite getting something right but you know theres a trick to make it work. Videos always kill me with this kind of stuff. All the subtleties or flat out deceptions/left out info.

I can't compare as its the only mold Ive owned but I can vouch that it works well, makes a nice 50RG, and IMO was worth the coin.
