• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Is this wrong, or is it just me?

I dont buy cigars this way, but i love flea markets and auctions. Negotiation is the name of the game. The trick is in knowing the actual value. I will nearly always put forth a lower offer, and wait for a counter. If your price is firm, and the price is in line, I'll respect that and...

    Flavored Cigars

Depends on what flavor profile you're looking for. As far as the acids, I'm not a big fan. The Kuba kuda tasted like a bouquet of flowers. The Blondie was more like smoking a vanilla cupcake. Not really a fan of flavored cigars. But my favorite, hands down, is the Java by drew estates. The...

    B&M vs. Internet

The local place I frequent does exactly what electricmayhem said. What he is is an upscale restaurant with a cigar bar in the basement. It's an old converted train station. Once a month he holds a tasting event. Has a factory rep come in with a featured cigar or two or three. Has a liquor...

    B&M vs. Internet

Me, about 50/50. I attend a monthly cigar tasting at a cigar bar about 30 minutes away. He discounts all boxes 25% during these, so the price is the same as ordering online. There is a bulk candy dealer about an hour or so away with a nice walk-in humidor and average prices wife likes...

    Rancho Luna

Had the opportunity to meet and speak with Justo Eiroa and try the Rancho Luna cigar from JRE Tobacco. He's a very nice guy, and a pleasure to talk to. The cigar was good, not really much into reviews but I thought it was a good, medium-strength smoke. This is a new to me stick, and not sure...

    Stem stuck in pipe

I'm new to pipes but I'll verify this. Just did this the other day, with some skepticism. Suprise...it came right out.

    A gift from my wife

Congrats. Mine is coming up in a couple days. 28 years. I'm lucky that while she won't go to that extend, (she is not that interested in cigars) she's supportive of the hobby and respects it. Definitely hang on to her. Here's to many more aniverseries for you both.

How long can you keep a cigar in your mouth while smoking?

Long enough to take a draw or two. Even then I still have a hand on it.

    Some recommendations for a newb

If you have a reliable b&m look for the Romeo Anejo by RyJ. Haven't found them on line, but several shops around me sell, and I get a decent box price from my favorite cigar bar. This is one of my favorite smokes.

Which time of the day that you to enjoy cigar

Evening for the most part. Last thing I do for the day. Pour a drink, select a stick, sit back and unwind. I'm fortunate that I have a indoor place to do that, stereo and tv. Weekends, depends on what the family has planned.

    Smoking Vs Collecting

I'm an accumulater. I have a couple "special" sticks I save for a special occasion. However, it don't take much to make an occasion special to me. I bought them to try them, not save them. I do have my favorites though. I am fortunate enough to attend a monthly tasting at a nearby cigar...

    Hi, new members

Appreciate all the welcomes. Thanks! Dred, I'm up in Indiana County. Had the pleasure of covering the Saltlick Township area in northern Fayette County for quite a few years. Met a lot of great people there.

    Hi, new members

Hi, just joined though I've been lurking for awhile. Not much to say, I live in Western PA, in my late 50s, been smoking cigars for about a year and a half. Spent the last 32 years or so working as a medic for a large EMS service. Enjoyed reading so far.
