• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Beer O da day!

Dogfish Head 90 minute.... Too much malt, too much sweetness, and the booze is more present than the actual hops. I'm over this one, but had to get a 4 pack again just to be certain. Felt the same way after my last 4 pack....but here we are.

I'm gettin' ready to throw some Steaks on the grill here in a few...but will try and get in there here soon. Never done the chat thing here....so i'm long overdue.

    Beer O da day!

Boulevard Sixth Glass... Definitely prefer this to the Rayon Vert, and a good follow up to that beer. Gotta say though, don't think I'd buy this again. While the flavors are nice, it just doesn't hide the 10.5% ABV. Lotsa booziness here (Cliff, i know why you live this brother...you like to get...

    Beer O da day!

Big +1 to this....even if it's simple. Gives folks something to go on at least. Unless it's Larry....cause we can already presume he loves whatever it is he's drinking.... (just messin' of course Larry....although it wouldn't hurt to tell us you didn't care for something every now...

    Beer O da day!

Sought this one out today from Bob's post yesterday... Definitely can taste the Brett...and the Belgian Yeast up front. Mild, and dry on the finish w/ a good amount of carbonation (perhaps overly done in that regard). Hops are extremely well hidden, but there at the end. It's a one beer...

    Beer O da day!

Yup....I'm with ya there too. Just easier to do for me with beers it seems. I can drink one glass of beer and make that call. But the inconsistencies sometimes with cigars make it much harder to do, but thats how I prefer to judge smokes as well, once I get a true grasp on the blend at least...

    Beer O da day!

LOL...well, if you've got that down Jay, that's all you really need anyway. Beyond trying to pick up flavors on occasion, i've gotta narrow it down to "yup, i'd buy again"... or "nope not worth it". I don't keep notes, or a book, or a spreadsheet etc....so beyond posting thoughts here..it's...

    Beer O da day!

Hmmm...just took a look, fermented w/ Viognier and Pinot Gris grapes? Interesting. This style is indeed a very nice change of pace. Someone will tell you it's a "slippery slope"... They're liars though. It's a free-fall...

How is this? I saw it yesterday w/ my wandering eye, but went for sours instead.

    Beer O da day!

yup...will definitely report my thoughts, as I'm very much looking forward to trying it. Once you've had the Pliny, the IPA bar is set far too high... Although the NN isn't classifed as an IPA I don't think, but a red/amber.....just obviously a hopped up version.

How's the NN Jay? Never had that one, but have it on good authority that some is inbound for the State of WA :guitar:

    Death of seasonal beer

I guess I hadn't paid too much attention....although I did notice the Winters were out pretty early I suppose. I'm only a Fall and Winter Seasonal guy. The Srping, Summers never do much for me....but to have a brew axed cause retailers need to make room in the Fall, for their Winter inventory...

Now that's a damn fine beer haul right there! You say "landed"....as in this beer bounty was shipped to you? If so, that's committment to the craft!! I've had 12 bottles shipped to me many times, but 2 cases is out of my scope. At least at present time anyways.......BUT......things...

    Beer O da day!

Ya see... THIS is one of the beauties of this thread (and this forum obviously). This beer wasn't even remotely on my radar, and not cause I don't like Green Flash. Their West Coast IPA is stellar, and a favorite of mine. Seeing these two posts...I did some quick looking, and this one...

    Beer O da day!

Hey...I love the Lennys Bittersweet too, and would GLADLY drink either of those two beers. The Lennys RIPA is the beer that got me off of my Dogfish Head 90 minute kick I was on. And that wasn't easy to do. I was into the 90 minute for a good while there.

If your local has the Racer 5 Jay....go back and see if they have the Hop Rod Rye whenever you make it back there. It too, is fantastic. Not sure if you've bought and tried the Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye...but the Bear Republic Hop Rod blows it away IMO.

    Beer O da day!

Nice...glad you liked it Jay. Doesn't get much better for the price, and in that category IMO. Assume you found some local to you huh? Certainly couldn't have been enough time to get an order from Gary..... I only know that cause mine hasn't shown up yet!...lol.

When I make it back to the bottle shop, and if there's any left Cliff...i'll grab you a bottle. There was only one left after I grabbed these two, but they may have had more in stock in the back. The gal told be me about it last time I was in there, and that they'd just gotten it in...but I was...
