• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

The Thanksgiving Weekend "Smoke your Rare Smoke" thread

I'm sitting down with a 1940's Harvester right now. Clear Havana, not my "rare" smoke for this thing, just was in the spirit. This is the last of a handful of these I've had and enjoyed. Like with so many vintage cigars, smoking the last one is like saying goodbye to an old fiend.

The Thanksgiving Weekend "Smoke your Rare Smoke" thread

This sounds like fun and I'll try to join in, but until I know I'm gonna have time to enjoy it I don't want to commit. Also, depends on my company, If my bud shows it will be somthing I have pairs of, if not something I don't.

Were to buy a TAT Single SW Maduro?

There is kind of a second release of these that happened not that long ago. Pete had some in the warehouse and shipped them out. Not sure who might have some, but it's worth checking around.

    What is your rarest cigar?

I've got a small pack (5) Partagas from the early 1940's, A full box of Castle Hall from 1920 that is my rarest old stuff, more modern I'd say Partagas 150 or Avo 22

what do you keep your beads in?

I have lots of cigars that I have less than ten of and this is where they live. the numbers match up to an Excel spread sheet so I know what I got and can find it. You damage a lot of cigars if you spend to much time hunting.

what do you keep your beads in?

the Tray has a lip so the beads sit under the wood about a half inch. I took standard trays and glued wood feet so I get better air circulation than just stacking them.

what do you keep your beads in?

I built a custm acryic tray that fits on the bottom of my humidor that is the size of three cedar trays side by side, which is what sits on it. Makes for a huge surface area with beads about half an inch thick all the way across.

What are really bad cigars to avoid?

Drew Estate The Egg- Bad Idea, never found anyone who liked smoking one. In general, though any regular size cigar that is a super cheap. Paying lots dosn't insure a good smoke, but those 2$-3$ bundles usualy are under age and it's not worth aging them to see if the sucky amonia taste goes away.

anyone try the beads from cheaphumidors?

I had some beads from Cheaphumidor and they worked OK, they seemed to fluctuate more than the Heartfelt beads I use now and take longer to bring back the humidor after I'd opened it up. They are better than foam, but for my money, especialy on somthing so critical that last for so many years...

Check Out What I Just Won

it's hard to see a yellow tint, with a brown cigar behind it, might also be the flash, but I'd bet money they are yellow. P.S. I almost bid on that auction myself! Nice Score, I liked the few Blackstone I've tried, never heard of the other one.

    B&M idea

The shops already do sell premium aged cigars for a higher price. Look at the age already put into premium lines like VSG, ESG, Opus, LE's etc. they demand a higher price and the tobbacco is older when it's rolled, and often aged for longer once rolled as well. To keep from confusing the...

Opus and Cedar Wrapping = Mold?

I had some problems when I kept my humidor over 70%, but haven't had any since I went closer to 65%. What I have noticed though is in a Temp Controled humidor, to watch out for metal tins, seems when you open the humidor up and let the warm moist air in, it's a spot for condensation.

Anything wrong with other brands of wine fridges?

THERMO-ELECTRIC is verry important, I do not recomend a compressor model, it will be a pain to maintain humidity, if you can do it at all. If it's supper quiet, you are OK, if you see a radiator or refrigerant tank in back, stay away. That and the temperature range makes the Vino one of few out...

    Being sued for $4 mil

Sorry to hear, something like this happened to my folks whan I was a teen and caused an accident. The people who sued got less than the insurance max and less than the offered settlement. Then they sued their laywers for screwing it up. I know how stressfull it is, but sometime it's just a bluff...

Here is my advice in friends and love. Judge people by how they treat you when they are not getting what they want, not when they are.
