  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

    Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    ^ This I pretty much only smoke Tats, Padrons (all, any), LP (52's), Illy's, Kristoff Maduro's, DPG anything 601 Blues, Murcielago etc.......but it was the journey of smoking hundreds of different cigars that led me to this conclusion that was the most enjoyable part :cbig:

    Regardless of RH, a dryer stick will have subtle flavor differences than a more humidified stick......this much I know.

    Are you sure it's "ash" that you taste? How exactly do you know what "ash" tastes like? Not trying to be a dbag, but maybe you're picking up other flavors like barn, pepper, earth, catchers glove etc. that are common in cigars. Just a thought........keep on smoking brother!

    I've noticed that too, but I just wet the end a little and it holds fine. I would rather have bands that are easy to take off, rather than bands that stick to the wrapper of prized sticks:eyebrow:

    I approach cigars like I approach wine; I try and pair them both with food.....and time of day is another variable. You certainly wouldn't drink a Pinot Grigio with a porterhouse, and you wouldn't smoke a full body Habano for breakfast!

    Viaje doesn't produce "gimmick" cigars.........not sure why you would go into smoking the MOAB thinking this! Great review nonetheless, I just ordered a fiver for aging!

    Just purchased a fiver of 601 Robusto Blues for $17 which is a killer deal. Most of what they have on special is mediocre i.e. Perdomo, Oliva G, Rocky Patel etc. daily smokes.....nothing special
