    Cigar Molds Thread

Hi, all. I'm looking for a 48RG roundhead churchill mold, preferably longer than 7 inch. Anyone looking to get rid of one or have a line on one for a decent price? Thanks!

    Pics of Your Sticks

This was one of those smokes that I never wanted to end. Smoked like poetry: started with a mild spice that mellowed to fruity hot chocolate and ended up with a warm, dry nutmeg kind of flavor. Very earthy and sweet start to finish, which I like. Ample smoke throughout, no relights. Ash for days...

    Pics of Your Sticks

Hey, Marc. I may have missed it, but did you ever have a chance to smoke your perique-wrapped cigar? If so, how'd you like it? I'm trying to figure out a good way to use this stuff. I rolled a perique purito just to get the undiluted flavor and it was not pleasant. Kind of like being put off by...

I just got some Bezuki from WLT a few weeks ago and it's been one of my favorite wrappers to date. Mild spice (think warm, Indian spices), very silky and stretchy, thin-veined, and easy to wrap with. A bit short, so not a lot of extra material for capping (especially a larger stogie), but...

Sampling The New WLT Cibao Valley SKUs

Great idea! Just did, along with 2 other 1/4 pound samples. Goddamn, this is getting out of hand.

Sampling The New WLT Cibao Valley SKUs

...There goes another $100 on leaf. I'm really loving the CVV Hab Seco and Ligero. I rolled a 3-leaf purito with the CVV Hab Ligero and it tasted just as smooth as the seco. Call me crazy. I've not had a chance to try the CV Criollo Ligero, but that's part of my order based on your guys' ranting...

I think I rolled the first one ultra-loose, and the last one pretty tight. I've gotten more consistent since then, using the cup method (use the first filler leaf as a holder "cup" for the remaining filler so it's more contained before binding) that you showed me. Rolled a few, smoked a few, got...

Respect. (y) Now I know why your sticks look the way they do when I see them around the forum!

Brilliant! I'm always open to trying something new, especially when it clicks. And that really clicks. I'll let you know how it goes.

Very cool, thanks for the encouragement LMAO. Are you kidding me? That first stick looks so good it's comical (I have to laugh so I don't cry). What possessed you to have that kind of ravenous prep leading up to using actual leaves? Or are you just pulling my chain?

I read the page. Was there something in particular you were pointing out or just directing me to the thread in general?

Will definitely try this. I've been keeping them wrapped in newspaper for about an hour, or until I've rolled the 6th stick. Then I immediately start applying the final wrapper. So I can see how they could benefit from some additional time in the paper. Good thought on re-wrapping with newspaper...

Daaamn. Looking good! I need to buy some more leaf (dammit, guys). Do any of you guys that have been doing this for years have some shots of your early work compared to your latest roll?

VERY EXCITED to try this out! Thanks for the tip on both the early casing and the cap!

Hey, just wanted to post an update on how the rolling is going. I am finally getting to the point where the draw is fairly consistent (still a bit loose, but WAY better than the unimpeded straw-draw I was getting before). I have been using newspaper to press after binding since my homemade mold...

    Leaf Reviews

I gotta say, that vuelta abajo seco was fantastic! Mild, nutty, and well-rounded. I picked me up a pound the next day. I just read through this thread and hearing everyone's experiences with different leaves is extremely helpful in extracting the most joy from my credit cards. I've got what...
