I'm drinking a Dale's Pale Ale mixed with about 5oz of another homebrewer's old ale (same recipe as the one I brewed two years ago). The blend is very nice, it masks the slightly out of balance brettanomyces characteristics and add mucho complexity to the pale ale. This blending practice was normal in England when old ale was produced and contained brettanomyces.

Had these yesterday:

Started off with a 2011 version Wake-n-Bake... Still pretty damn good!
The Abyss was definitely the star of the day!

100_0238.JPG Yeah I know it's a me too,but come on it's Westie! Thanks for the hook up brother!

Can't speak for Trevor but I like it a lot and hope to have more at a later time no doubt, but given the hype I had built up in my head (over a decade's worth) expected more. If that never happens I'll still be happy with other Trappist's like Rochefort 8 or 10, Chimay 'Blue' and St. Bernardus 12 etc.

Last night some barrel aged Barleywine's were shared. All were excellent but the 3F's was phenomenal, imho.
