By all means carry on...I like hearing about classic cars. Yeah, I'm psyched too, this came out of the blue. I was going to buy a new mini cooper, but they changed the body style, now I don't like the way they look. I wouldn't buy a used mini because unless the seller can provide documentation that the car was taken care of properly, you never know what problems you'll have. They're not cheap to repair, and some parts you have to wait for it to be made.
I figured with a carb'd v8 its easy to fix, I grew up working on cars. No BS sensors or computer.
I’m still holding onto my old 94 ford ranger for the same reason. Easy too work on no sensors and still won’t die with nearly 300 thousand miles on it.
Some things were better left simple and for me it was vehicles.

Nice car Clive! My dad had a gold 65 fast back with a 351. Sadly he sold it to buy his first classic bmw motorcycle before I was born. I have a lot of dream cars and will inherit a very large car collection from both of my uncles including the following
97 viper
66 fastback
71 firebird
2 identical trans ams
98 mustang roush stage 2 with a kenne bell
69 camaro
63 split window corvette
71 corvette
74 corvette
66 impala ss
Late 50s thunderbird
2012 corvette zr1
And a few more that I can’t even think of.
Now this is my dream car that I already have. 2015 camaro 2ss almost fully loaded
I have full bolt ons, zl1 fuel pump, injectors, tuned on E85. Lexani wheels, Oracle colorshift halos, fogs, rear bowtie. It has peddlers front and rear sway bars and trailing arms. Lots of cosmetics.35B8A131-B3FF-46A9-8E2D-8F8203DF609E.jpeg082AF728-CCCB-4E30-9FC5-8EAB56C90321.jpeg034B9EDD-296B-48E7-B1FA-4087B10AF92A.jpeg

I remember when these first came out. Hard to find now and if you do they are priced high and modded too much for my liking.
Sounds like when I was searching for a 1990s MR2. Every single one I looked in to had evidence of being modded and abused.

I had a chance to purchase my dream car recently. It was a 2002 Cadillac Eldorado in red. Unfortunately the motor was completely shot. Finding the appropriate motor and getting the necessary head modification would have run the price up too much. So, I had to pass on the vehicle.

I had a 2000 Eldorado ETC and it is still the one I miss. I've driven classic muscle cars, super cars, and several generations of European luxury cars. Nothing else has that old school American Grand Touring feel. The only other vehicle I've enjoyed as much is my 2020 Mazda 3 and it is a completely different experience.

It was finally time to part ways with Cadillac. She picked up a 2020 Porsche Macan with 13,000 miles, premium plus package, sport Chrono, turbo wheels, carbon fiber steering wheel, red seatbelts, puddle lights, black sport exhaust tips. So its pretty sick and she’s loving it.
