I’m still holding onto my old 94 ford ranger for the same reason. Easy too work on no sensors and still won’t die with nearly 300 thousand miles on it.By all means carry on...I like hearing about classic cars. Yeah, I'm psyched too, this came out of the blue. I was going to buy a new mini cooper, but they changed the body style, now I don't like the way they look. I wouldn't buy a used mini because unless the seller can provide documentation that the car was taken care of properly, you never know what problems you'll have. They're not cheap to repair, and some parts you have to wait for it to be made.
I figured with a carb'd v8 its easy to fix, I grew up working on cars. No BS sensors or computer.
Some things were better left simple and for me it was vehicles.
