How often do you retrohale?

Revising my prior answer, I am currently in the process of learning how to retrohale - I think I'm overdoing it, I dove in headfirst and am doing it every 3rd or 4th puff now. At first I get tons more flavors than normal... Then I overdo it and stop getting the flavors and start getting pain - So maybe i should cut back to every 10 puffs or so.

But I'm learning!

yeah I think I'm retrohaling but.. how much smoke do you actually get out that way? When I do it i don't get much, unless I accidentally swallow the entire drag..

Just curious, when I retrohale, the first 2-3 times during a smoke it burns a bit -borderline unpleasant, and then after that it's usually ok and I can retrohale as much smoke as I want. Is this pretty normal or can the more experienced smokers retrohale as much smoke as you want from the start?

Every few puffs until it starts to get hot. I only let out maybe the last 20% of the smoke so I retrohale on all cigars.
