  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

How's your day going?

I've got a phone interview tomorrow for another job. I've been working my ass off at the current gig. The new boss isn't impressed though. For the first time in my working life my review was all negative.

There were allegations of dodging work, leaving work for others, and "inappropriate communication style." I've spent fourteen years doing this kind of work and never had a negative review. But, this boss just seems to have an axe to grind with me. They constantly work from the assumption that I'm an idiot. It has gotten to the point they tried to embarrass me in front of a group of people only to have the same issue when trying to complete the project. They then brought that scenario up as me not knowing how to perform certain functions during the review.

So, I'm out of there before they have a chance to lay a paper trail on me. I'm too old to deal with this type of shit. I don't have the time or the patience.

Thurs night was my 26th high school graduation (after my own)...

This year was particularly special - my coworker's daughter who, along with her friends, have all essentially become my nieces, all graduated... We'll miss them hanging around our offices every day and keeping us all updated with the tea on campus!

And I'm happy to report that I didn't screw up any names when I was reading... and some were pretty challenging with the absence of vowels and all hahahahaha

Congrats to anyone else who had a family member or friend graduate!

I gotta finish framing out and installing a new window in the sewing room I'm building for my wife.
I'll post some photos in a bit.
the house im working on is all aluminum windows that were installed before the brick exterior - basically made to never be removed. so we have 10 windows nearly all 6x3 that I need to literally break the glass out of and then pry out all of the window just to install new ones. going to be done one at a time.

I've always wondered how the brick home window installations work. No brick homes in Tahoe, so once I moved to GA I was curious. Seems like a pain in the ass.

removal will be. There's actually wood frame behind the brick. So current style windows work just fine once you get the old ones out. Current style just get screwed right into the wood and are super simple

went down to the county health office to get my kid's immunization records into the system so we can be ready for school enrollment

found out MS requires an immunization by my son's age that NYS won't administer for at least another year

so now we have to figure out how to accommodate this (family is moving down around the fourth of July - school starts like July 21st or such and he needs to get registered)

Yesterday was MRI and Xray Day. Spent an hour in the tube and the headset went out in the first 2 minutes. Still hear the noise in my head (ugh). Definitely had the "buried alive" thoughts going in there. Now I wait to see what they say. No more surgeries for this boy. I've reached my limit with that shit. I'll work around whatever they tell me. Thank God for Pharmaceuticals.

welp Im a gamer and I had a preorder for the Switch2 from Walmart, they cancelled it yesterday (today is release day).

my kid was super sad.

I walked into Target this AM to do some shopping and figured I'd pop into electronics. Sure enough they had a few in stock. So now I have a switch2 and my kid is gonna be stoked after school!

This is awesome! I missed out on the pre order and figured it would be like the original switch release when you couldn’t find them outside of scalpers for the first two years.

from what I've read that's not been the case. retailers in general seem to have stock if you walk into the stores. Nintendo seems to have been doing a great job this pass on scalping
