  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

How's your day going?

Fingers crossed you find something that fits you soon! Till then enjoy your time off and smoke a few cigars!
The big issue for me is just the BS companies are pulling now.

I drove 45 minutes for an interview. When it was over the guy says, "Well the position has been filled but we would like to offer you something else." Then he offers me something unrelated that pays 30% less. When I said that I couldn't justify the drive for that price, he just said okay and left. No hand shake or thank you. He just up and left.

Things have just been crazy.

So my son has been struggling a bit mentally here in MS.

He's generally enjoying it and making new friends, etc. But he also yearns for 'home' (the only one he's known for 10 years) back in NY.

We expected this - but it's always tough to help him through. He had a therapist in NY - so it's time for us to find him one down here.

Unrelated - we've talked about getting a second dog down here so our Frenchie has a friend. I think we've found a new friend. A mini dachshund here local in MS. We meet and possibly pick her up on Sunday.

Also had someone out to quote me for solar yesterday. (Electric Bill was about 500 bucks last month - first one with the family here, so we'll see where it settles). They quoted me ~75,000 bucks. Not surprising, large house, lots going on and that includes panels + battery backup (in lieu of a generator).

We're sitting on that for the moment - but the 30% federal tax incentive goes away on Jan 1 so we have to decide fairly soon (that 75k does not include the tax incentive)

Hope the best for your little one. I've been there with mine and I know it isn't easy. I hope the whole family comes through strong and healthy.

I'm waiting for the official letter, but I got a job offer today. The money is meh, but there is a chance for promotion in 6 - 9 months.
That's awesome - congrats! Don't let them sit on the "promotion chance", they'll just string you along to get more work out of you without the pay! Kick ass

Thanks for the congratulatory posts. I signed the offer letter and I've been doing the onboarding stuff. I'm just trying to wrap my head around working five days straight every week. I've been doing 12 hour rotating shifts for so long that 8 x 5 feels like an alien concept.

But, I'm going in to kick ass and make it as far as they'll let me.

I got sad news from a good friend.

Also got a call from my mechanic, 2K in repairs.

Found a wasp nest bigger than a basketball in my tree in back.

Only have the motorcycle for transportation today and it's raining.

it's just got to get better, right?
