I'm not sure what I'm gonna do, probably just stay here regardless...

Thats what i'm going to do. If it still looks like it's going to hit us I'm going to kick the wife and kids out. Have the house to myself this weekend.

Lookin' kinda nasty now Eric...you sure staying put is a good idea?
I guess, mainly because I get first priority @ the grocery store. I could always drive up to Lake Livingston and stay at my grandparents place if it's on target for a direct hit. We did that back in '83 for Hurricane Alicia.

doofus -- I wouldn't worry about your family in dallas and san antonio. they'll be fine. they are far from the coast -- especially dallas, they might get some heavys and maybe some strong winds, but that's it.

the folks right on the coast are going to get pounded. we'll see some strong winds and maybe some tornados here in houston. we'll certainly see some knocked down power lines if it comes near us. I'm not really concerned with flooding, maybe some high water for a few hours.

The only thing I'm concerned with is that being on the eastern side of Houston, I am closer to the SJ river floodplains.

It's a bad weather problem right now with all of these monster hurricanes! They say it's going to be like this for the next 10-20 years!

I'm leaving in the a.m. with my uncle. My aunt who works at Exxon has to stay and work

Dave has complete reigns while I'm gone so you better be good or you might get raked with a comb or two.

seriously, y'all are going to be without power for days and stuff. don't postpone evac until friday!

my in-laws just left TODAY, and there was gridlock all over the place that will only get worse.

we're selling out of water and crap in TEMPLE, which is not in any way in danger.

this is fucked.
