I leave Friday morning, looking forward to it! What hotels are people staying at? We should pick one with a nice lounge area where we can smoke as our "BOTL Base of Operations".

I am staying at the Hilton as well. I get in Thursday afternoon. When do you get in, Craig?

Someone needs to post a Dos and Don'ts thread or post as a guide to the IPCPR for brothers going for the first time.
Seriously, no one bothered to write one of these. I was hoping someone would, because it would be kinda helpful. @Craig Mac do you want to take a shot at it? How about you, @ssaka since you've probably been to more IPCPR/RTDAs than anyone?

The third "Do" is going to be a problem for me. I'll be on the floor before 9 am, but I seriously doubt I will be going to sleep at a decent time. Thanks for the advice, Craig.

I think it's pretty simple
Do's
Have fun
Realize that people are there doing business
Remember at midnight you have to be on the floor in 9 hours
Don'ts
Be rude
Beg for samples
Steal shit
Interrupt people doing business
Be that guy wasted in front of half the industry at 10pm
A friend of mine, who used to be a rep for Drew Estate gave me a good "don't": never bad mouth anyone or any maker's cigar while at the trade show. Even over dinner or at the bathroom, because you never know who is around you.

Good advice...I've been to a lot of cigar events and not once has a rep ever badmouthed another cigar or company. In fact many of them bring up other cigar reps and companies as friends (in private could be different). But even seeing reps from multiple companies hanging out you couldn't tell if they despised one another.

I just posted the day/date/time/location of the BOTL Herf the 19th on my Instagram. I would suggest a few other folks do the same to make sure anyone interested is aware.

In New Orleans, you can have liquor outside as long as it's not in glass. If you are at a bar and want to depart with your drink, you will sound like a total local if you ask the barkeeper for a "go cup". Or just reach for the ever present column of clear plastic "go cups" and grab one yourself. Pour in your drink and out the door you go!

Have fun everyone. I cannot wait to start seeing some pics of the floor/sticks. Someone check out Tatuaje and see if they have any info on those pumpkin banded cigars that were supposed to arrive this year if you can!

Can anyone attend these? Or are they only open to retailers and manufacturers ?
