I took a dry run to Aliso Beach this weekend. The wife wanted to go to the beach and actually randomly picked this beach to visit. It's very nice, not too big, but had plenty of parking at 2:00 PM on Sunday. Here's a pic looking back towards the beach from a rock between this beach and the next one. It is actually the beach in the distance.
At the southern edge of the beach, there is a little depression and rock wall that might afford a little protection from the wind:
The dark rock on the right side of both pictures is the same rock.
Which brings up a question for discussion. In my experience, a windy beach is a pretty poor place to smoke a cigar. The stick burns too hot. Will we have any protection from the wind? Any thoughts on where we are going to set up?
