Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! That would be a very long video... the bat takes three hours to make plus an overnight resting. My instagram has lots of in progress shots The key is to put 4 distinct blend phases in the 12inches with three additional transitional blends (where the blends overlap) for a total of 7profile shifts. Roll out 13+inches and sculpt down to 12+1/4". I usually start the stick off with a very strong blend... medium center cut and a mild finish. The mold is hand cut... so if you are good with your tobacco sheers you can sculpt the foot to a half round. Save alllll the outside edge leaf cuts in a ziplock so you can use them for the twine... mist the inside of the ziplock. For the endcap at the head... I cut off 1/4 inch of the head... flatten it in a press then put a finishing wrapper on it. Rub a lil glue on the inside cap and toothpick... run a tooth pic through it and the head of the stick ... cap it and add the twine on the shaft of the stick... design wrapper as desired. The bat blend moves for $200 all year long ~xox
Thanks for the breakdown.I've mentioned a few times to several rollers. With a tobacco sales license which here is $200 bucks, you can sell tobacco in it's agricultural state. I roll as a complementary service but I sell NAME BRAND Agri-Pak Blends. I sell to club members and to the public this way. They buy the name brand blend pack which is the cigar leaf blend in agricultural state (center vein still intact) from filler to wrapper is all packaged together (they are going to marry anyway right?). Customer buys the argri-pak and then I roll it for them complementary... the cigar isn't sold nor is it free... it's the rendered art. What the customer chooses to do with it is their business. When I do public rolling events for private parties... I sell a ticket for the blend... when they buy that ticket they purchased the blend which I've already brought loose with me... I then proceed to roll it complementary. Should someone want to roll their own... the cost of the leaf is the same... since that's the only thing I sell. It isn't what the law says... it's what the law doesn't say that we outsider rollers have to think about. ~xox
Have you found any leaf sources outside wlt and lo that you would recommend for other home rollers?~xox
Transitional blends. This is something I've been considering in my rolls, but haven't tried. Great info.

They are the primary sources... but there are private sources that also sell and depending on the type of ct you are looking for... certain states have tb farms that sell their own inventory which offers less tb types but small and large batches are available. unfortunately... it's a hunt if you want anything outside what the two leading companies provide
My rolling style allows for precision blending from one phase to the next... it's slightly more time consuming but ensures several blend profiles emerge from the blend to tell the palate a story.
Yeah this is exactly the thought I was wondering last night before you wrote this. I didn't know how well it would work, but it sounds like it is worth trying as you had success. I was thinking of going from medium to strong from foot to head. Sort of like drinking, beer before liquor.
