Sean, if you are shaving with just water you might want to add in just a bit of pre-shave oil. Doesn't ad much time to the shave & will make everything that much smoother. I like it even under most of the shave creams/soaps I use.

Normally I do... but I can also go without. I have pretty thick & oily skin.

And to keep with the spirit of this thread:

No shave today.

Shave went pretty well today all though I did get a weeper above my upper lip/lower nose area. Need to respect the Feather blade as they are super sharp.

Heck, I just slap on the barbasol and fastly shave eveything off with a gilette razor and a blade from a venus.

HOWEVER
have always been interested in other methods and i'm happy to see this thread exists ! thank-you gents for the ideas !

TOBS sandalwood was great.

I used a clean mug; got the brush wet, but not dripping, with very hot water. Made a few passes over the cream with the wet brush, then lathered in the mug. Very creamy and smooth. Only down side, the lather didn't stay very warm for me, but it gave a great shave. Based on the amount of cream used, this is a several month supply.

It left a very nice, subtle scent so I didn't use an aftershave. The wife loved it!

I'm a cheap SOB, any of you guys have a free shipping code for a reputable online vendor of shaving products? I'm looking to buy a tub of cream, brush, and a sampler of blades, but don't want to break the bank.

No code needed, our sister site to Cigar King is ShavingCreams.com and offers free shipping on orders over $25. Simple and easy with no need to remember a code.
