My concern will be what Cingular's response is when the phone seems to act ok with them.

it will not make a difference... if it is broken 2% of the time, then it is not acting properly and you can get a new one... that is stated in your contract...

Most likely they will just toss it and not test it. I have the insurance on all my cell phones. I just show up and say it doesnt work and they had me a new one. Built in obsolesence.

No insurance...they claimed it was still in the warranty period. As long as the phone shows no damage, it is an even exchange.

yea, they had me pop the battery and tell them the color of the dot that shows if there was water damage. Should I take pics of the phone and the dot before sending it in??

Yes... i would... just in case, i would rather be safe then sorry in that situation... especially if you do not have insurance on the phone..>

No need for pictures. Cingular doesn't even look at that phone, it's sent back to Motorola as far as I've heard. I have a pink Razr (got it for my birthday in July) & have been through 3 replacements, so I'm currently on my 4th phone. It's working okay, though I still have complaints & I do NOT recommend the Razr to people. I've had lots of experience with Cingular's Warranty Exchange by Mail service so PM me if you have any more questions.

Well....wouldn't have been able to cancel anyway. Even though the email just came through, it shipped Friday (the day I called). It is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. We'll see.

I already have one. Over a year now I think and no real problems other than reception at my house sucks, but that seems to be all phones. Oh, and battery life sucks. But I knew that going in.

The wife and I both just upgraded in the past couple of months and we were hesitant about the RAZRs. One of her friends went through 3. We ended up with the LG8600. Hope your's straightens out.

New one arrived today. All seems to be well as of right now. Only time will tell.
