Snow Storm

First of two rounds is over here in Northeastern PA, we got 3 inches of snow last night. Waiting for round two to start later this afternoon. More snow 4 to 6 inches, and then the real fun a change over to freezing rain expected 1/4 to 1/2 of ice accumulation.

You would think driving on the Ice would be bad, but it is much better to drive on 1/2 inch of Packed ice than snow. I did not slide around at all, great traction...

Closed early today...coming out of the building the snow is up to my knees. Crazy.

just got in from the first shovling, sucked like mad. they let us off work today at 11 am. still snowing and will not end till the morning. to damn windy even to smoke while moveing the stuff.

So who is bracing for this wonderful winter bash the Midwest is about to get?

I'm currently living in the North suburbs of Chicago. Weather warnings tell me 1.5 to 2 feet of snow.

It's 68 degrees and comfortable where I'm at.....35 miles SW of Chicago,,,in my house.

Our jobsites and offices shut down by 2, and are closed tomorrow. Looking forward to "working" from home tomorrow.:applause:

Got to love it! 1-2' of snow, 60mph wind gust and 10' snow drifts!

Yeah, my office let out at 2:30 in Itasca and my normal 25 min drive took me just over an hour. At times, I can hardly see the houses across the street with the blowing snow.

Well, the "Blizzard" isn't supposed to start until 3PM here in Chicagoland....so I hope your drive home isn't too bad.

Off topic, but what lab do you work at? At Northwestern I take it?

I work for the Messersmith group. We do biomaterials work, and I'm specifically working on antimicrobial and antifouling coatings. :thumbsup:

Ice storm here tuesday into wednesday. tomorrow into saturday 3-6". That would make it a snowstorm a week since Christmas averaging id say 6" a week. Ugh, spring cant come fast enouigh.
