  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Had another pour of a Whistlepig single barrel pick, this one just doesn't live up to the other WP picks I've had from this local group. Taking this one out of the rotation, life is too short to drink bourbon you don't like.

Cracked a Barrell Batch 28 so I know I'd be happy and have something better sitting on the bar. ;)

Time to start an infinity bottle of the ones that are sub-par and see what kind of mad scientist concoction you can make.

Great minds again, Jim @Alwayslit ?

I went to Binny’s yesterday and they had dropped several Jack Daniel’s barrel picks: Single Barrel, Barrel Proof Bourbon and Barrel Proof Rye.

I grabbed one of each BP, in the highest proof offered for each. (Bourbon is 135.6 and Rye is 137.8).

I haven’t cared much for the JD BP Ryes I’ve tried in the past, so I opened it first. After a small first pour I’ll say I like it better than those previous pours; I’m just not sure I like it yet.

I opened up the bourbon next. Middle of the road for JDBP picks. That means while it’s good, I’m still a little disappointed if that makes any sense.

Nice picks. What rickhouse are those bottles sourced?
