  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

So I have tried two 2XO batches, Vinyl and Sneakerhead, at a great restaurant in Lake Geneva. I liked both, and ended up buying both releases at a great price. But I wondered if part of the appeal was environment, and if I would like them as well at home.

Opened the Vinyl last night, I like it a lot. (y)

Do they do their own distillate?

IMG_7922.jpegBy this point we were mixing the stuff all the way to the right with piggyback and ginger ale. It’s not very good. Actually preferred the double oaked woodford over everything last night. Has that dessert sweetness kinda caramel flavor I dig. I keep a bottle of that around but haven’t drank it in a while. Good times with good company

Whether was great the other night and the fam all went inside early to wind down, so hung out back with a Por Larranaga and this Willet 8 year.

A firend’s brother won the bottle in the county lotto, but didn’t want to spend that much, so he offered it up for sale at cost (which is MSRP here since the county controls liquor sales).

While it’s a pretty good pour, I don’t think it’s worth the price and would likely pass if I had the chance to get another. Too many other good options out there at a fraction of the price of this one. Or maybe Willet just isn’t my preferred profile.

Penelope makes some rather good blends.
That’s my first bottle. Had a drink one morning at like 8:30 when my work was delayed with rain. I wasn’t really ready for bourbon so didn’t form an opinion. Heard good things about the toasted so grabbed one. Also grabbed the wheated as I typically like wheated bourbon. And it was 35$.

saw some interesting stuff tonight at. Store I don’t visit too often but nah I’m not a rich man IMG_7957.jpegIMG_7958.jpeg

Ended up grabbing this and I’m gonna try tonight IMG_7962.jpeg
Barrel pick from these guys. Didn’t NEED another bottle but I like to buy something from these guys because they’re always cool when I stop in. And he recommended it I generally like everything old forester makes so should be good. He also told me he has sold all but 6 bottles with several repeat buys so will follow up with a review later or tomorrow

Good choice. I think you'll like it.
