  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Ummmm...I did NOT re-gift! Pretty darn sure the SS2 I gave you was one I bought from Mark (N2) Cigarhead...if the band was hand written then that's the case...if it was all printed nicely then yeah...I must have regifted.

Anyway, smoked a Party Lonsdale from Todd yesterday while waiting for the chicken to Rotisserie (or how ever you spell that word). Think it might have needed a little more time to rest...was a tad bland. :dunno:

I didn't see one here for today...so I guess everyone's taking a day off from smoking cigars.....yeah right.....

Thought I'd share my experience with a La Gloria Cubana Tainos that I had tonight.

I've a had a few of these, and every single one of them has had a problem with the draw. I put the box away for a bit to see if it could loosen things up. I pulled one out tonight (man they look so good  ) and lit it up.

Two puffs in & I knew that time had not solved the tight draw problem. The mild flavors I could get through the extensive puffing were amazing....But way too much work.

I was so looking forward to this cigar, but had to put it out after fighting it tooth & nail through 3/4....so promising.

What do others do with a cigar that has such bad draw problems?

I had an Monte 5 this evening. Maybe it was me but it wasn't as good as others from the same box. It was just alright.

For a tight draw, if I think the cigar is worth the effort, I'll go out to my garage and get my scratch awl to use as a poker.

No smoke for me yesterday, as shocking as that may be.

When I run into a tight cigar that I can still manage to smoke and taste I usually deal with it...it totally depends on exactly HOW tight though. Plugged? I toss it.

I had a nice SP - non plus. It had a somewhat tight draw that loosened up in the last half. Nice straight tobacco taste with sweet cedar hints.
