wet before you cut

I'm with you Chuck, I was advised by some friends who've been smoking for
15 to 20 yrs each that it dulls the cutter, and now having read this thread
the idea of using a public cutter is truly disgusting! *lol*

I almost always put the cigar in my mouth right out of the humidor so yes, it does get moist before cutting. It also helps with the cut in my opinion.

I don't think I've wet the cigar once. I don't even put draw on it or put the cigar in my mouth until the foot is toasted. However, I know people who wet the whole cigar.

I always taste the cigar prior to cutting it. So I guess it counts as wetting the cigar.

Standard practice before punching, though I never considered using the public one I used a v cutter at my local cigar bar the other day to see what the difference was and now I feel like eeewwww! That's a lot of .........

I use a knife to cut my cap. If I do not wet it, the cap gets ripped instead of cut. Ripping can make for a miserable smoke.
