BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I rubbed with a typical pork rub I bought at the store. But I also topped it with peach preserves before putting in the smoker. Some of the best pork I’ve ever smoked! Pulled it and put it in the crock pot to keep warm. No bbq sauce needed!

Did some sheet pan salmon in the smoker today, with green beans. In honor of National Bourbon Day, I made a garlic honey bourbon marinade. So yummy!

Sorry didn’t get any pics while on the grill, but I grilled a few excellent T-bones for my band mates this weekend in Arkansas. Played a gig. Had some stellar smokes, bourbon, and wine. Grilled some T’s. Also grilled some burgers while visiting my Pops and brother for Father’s Day. Back in Texas now, but I always love visiting my hometown, and am always a little sad to leave.
T-bones: nothing but salt and pepper, and a little olive oil.
Roasted broccoli, sautéed tarragon mushrooms, and a tomato tart. Tart was pre-made, so I can’t take credit but wow it was good!
Campo Viejo 2015 vintage wine. One of the best meals I’ve enjoyed in a long time! We followed the steaks up with some well-aged Añejo 46’s.
T-bones: nothing but salt and pepper, and a little olive oil.
Roasted broccoli, sautéed tarragon mushrooms, and a tomato tart. Tart was pre-made, so I can’t take credit but wow it was good!

Due to the current skyrocketing prices on everything, I have cut way back on where my dollars go, mainly food purchases, but also travel. Being on a fixed income, it's getting difficult. Burgers and dogs and an occasional sirloin is about as good as it gets around here for my wife and I. I also do some chicken cuts, but even wings are crazy priced these days. I keep my eye out for markdown cuts and shopping early turns up a few bargains.
So I will live vicariously through your fantastic pics and hope for better days ahead. But I'm not holding my breath.

Wife and kids are staying at a friend’s house to help keep their kids, while our friends are out of town. As for me, I’m home alone. Braveheart, beer, ribeye, and you can bet your BOTL butt I’ll be following this up with a delicious smoke!
