Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.
Thanks for that. I have never.....IDK. I watched it.
They’re legit! They are an Australian psych-rock group. King Gizzard and the Lizard WizardThanks for that. I have never.....IDK. I watched it.
Slayer are classic and Lamb of god is one of my favorites.![]()
Got to see Slayer (with Napalm Death, Testament, Anthrax, and Lamb of God) last week. My former angsty, teenage metalhead self was f’ing PSYCHED! Haven’t stopped listening to this album since. I think the wifepiece and my daughters are getting annoyed...
One of the best! One of my favorite albums of all time. Another gone way too soon.

I'm a hip hop head from way back. Only very recently, as a middle-aged white father and husband, have I been to appreciate the value of gangsta shit. But yes, I am aware of the vast and diverse hip hop landscape.
You mentioned a few MN guys in there, discoveries of Slug and Rhymesayers. Theyre not really doing much these days though.Hahaha nice! It's funny, I listened to Wu Tang, Mob Deep, Warren G, all the gangsta stuff from the 90's back in the day, but didn't really listen to any rap for years. Now I'm in my 30's and have really gotten into indie hip hop lol. My wife thinks it's some kind of a mid life crisis...

Atmosphere is still making records, but they're straight up Dad rap. Which is cool. But gone are the days of Lucy Ford and Overcast. You mentioned a few MN guys in there, discoveries of Slug and Rhymesayers. Theyre not really doing much these days though.
Been into Gangsta Rap since way back when NWA came on and 2Live and Public Enemy were doing their thing. Grew to appreciate the different styles and depiction of life in hoods around the country. Got into 36 Mafia for a while before they all died...then more into the slam poetry styles of indie MN rappers, a function of relating, and went to ~6 Doomtree shows in 2011. Got into the low budget productions of southern trap like Waka and Gucci before they fell off (though Gucci has had some strong collabs recently) and ASAP Rocky came onto the scene and gave rise to a host of new Harlem Rappers. This is my ish, Im from NY and have spent considerable time in the city and theres some really good stuff coming out of there that brings me back tom the days of Method and Biggie freestyles on Hot 97.
Not the freshest, but straight fire.
The one thing I cant do is Mumble Rap, not into it.
