  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Whatcha snortin'?

I'm a fan of the silver dollar. With much thanks to Dave the Enabler.
Went to their site and it said a B&M 45 minutes from the house, in the town my oldest works in, is a retailer. I called and was told it didn't sell and they got rid of it. My luck. :) I'm thinking a week earlier, I might have bought it for a song.

Staying on the Silver Dollar Cherry. Straight from the tin seems to be yielding varied results, so went with the ol' pinch-n-sniff. Much more controllable. Still don't know for sure if I'm really getting and cherry. I'm also picking up on some eucalyptus along in the menthol. Very similar to the scent of Proraso shave cream in the green tube, if that clicks with anyone.

I've been perusing the MrSnuff site now on and off for a few months. Just don't want to spend 30 bucks (they charge a fee for under 20) to try something I've never done. Would anyone be willing to sell me just one tin of something that is easy for a beginner to use? I'd rather buy just one tin to see if I like it before diving in head first.

If someone has a tin they'd like to sell, let me know! From my research that Polsch spearmint sounds good and is easy for beginners as it has essential oils and is moderately moist. Anything along those lines would be awesome!

Thanks!

Just got an order in from MrSnuff. Got 3 tins of Hedges L260 which was by far the favorite from my last order. Didn't feel like experimenting much but needed to get the order size up so I also threw in an empty metal snuffbox and a tin of Crumbs of Comfort. That Crumbs of Comfort is my new favorite. Wish I'd bought two. Oh well, next year. (My last order was in October of '14 and lasted me a year)

I've always wondered about this stuff since seeing The Good The Bad and The Ugly as a kid. My dad tried to explain it to me then and I didn't get it. I randomly stumbled across this thread and now I totally get it. Sounds like an interesting sensation.

Thanks for clearing up 10 year old me's question guys.

That's awesome!
No one around here sells it and I really don't want to make a 20 dollar order and hate the stuff. That'd be a waste!
I suppose I don't need another tobacco habit, so it's probably for the better :)

My first experience with it was the same type snuff my aunts and grandma used. You can get a can of that pretty cheap. I bought Railroad Mills Scotch, Dental Sweet and can't remember who makes the Peach. You might see if anybody wants to go in on an order.

So I ran out to a local Food Lion a bit ago to see what sort of snuff they had. They only had this dry snuff. I got the peach because it was the only flavored one they had and I got the green on because the lady there said it was one of the most popular.

This stuff is like sniffing talcum powder! I hardly sniffed any at all and I still felt it in the back of my throat. Can't wait until my Toque order comes in because if this is what Dave had shared with me, I don't think I'd have given it a second thought.

But I'll try it again here soon. Just for testing purposes of course.
