Ive made a similar slaw with chipotle peppers though and it accomodate smoked meats VERY well.
You don't say? And what is the recipe you used for that? I will be firing up my smoker this weekend and and want to try it out. I'll share my rub and sauce recipes
4 cups shredded Green Cabbage
1 cup shredded Purple Cabbage
2 medium Carrots (peeled and shredded)
1 small Red Onion (sliced very thin)
3 large Scallions (white and light green parts; sliced thin) -OPTIONAL
1 Can of Goya Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce (this is the secret ingredient) I add the sauce too!
1 Cup Mayo
1/4 cup fresh Lime juice
2 tablespoons Honey
1 teaspoon ground Cumin
1 teaspoon Chipotle Powder
Sea Salt and fresh-cracked Black Pepper
