And I mean, who here is ACTUALLY cooking the bird themselves...Not the wife or girlfriend.

No spiral sliced ham, nor a precooked turkey either...:nono:

Who's pulling it all together from scratch and roasting a turkey?

I almost burned down my apartment cooking breakfast this morning. Does that answer your question?

I am frying one to. I am thinking about putting it in a brine I got the recipe from Alton Brown.
i would SO watch out with frying a brined bird. make sure it is drained VERY thoroughly and all. fryer volcanoes are bad, m'kay?

using this recipie myself though, and it goes wonderfully. just skip the canola oil, and cover the bird gently in BUTTER before roasting. is more better.

Thinking about smoking a Turkey this year... or maybe we'll just roast one. But yes, I typically make one from scratch. I'm the cook for Thanks Giving.
