My latest edition! Not as cool as ones carved like the Nording's which I really like, but pretty sweet and I love the green grain on it.
Peterson Green Churchwarden.

Wow - that's a nice hunk of briar! Good find!
nope, not briar. that, AFAIK, is a nice hunk of petrified bog oak? morta is an odd material, but is supposed to be aMAzing when done right. which it looks like it was. beautiful pick up, hoarder! o)
Correct! I've had an eye on Becker mortas for a while and finally found one for half price. Couldn't say no. This thing smokes cold and never ever gurgles. I heard bog oak would make things taste different so I have some testing to do. Early impressions are that it makes Virginias taste sweeter, but the jury is still out.

picked up a "forever stem" from walker briar works:

yes, putting a hand made stem on a cob is kinda like polishing a turd, but OMG it actaully drew better for me! it also didn't make me feel like some ironic hipster douche while smoking a cob. seriously, it is a sweet little pick up for me.

and a few more tins of escudo. just 'cuz. o)

Okay...I could look this up but I'm to lazy right now. What makes it a forever stem? What does that mean? I love how it makes even a cob pipe look cool though!

cobs are actually built to last, but the stem is crap vinyl. it makes me feel like i am rocking a damn black and mild! these people make stems out of either vulcanite or lucite (and, yes, cool colors and church stems are available too), which can and should endure decades. thus, forever stems. twenty or thirty bucks, and you should be able to rotate a fistful of cons around one of these stems if you wanted. viola, instant rotation. o)

Ordering!
I love my 2 cobs! Those stems suck, though. These are gonna be nice. My first one is actually coloring up nicely.
