I am glad that I am the only one that I have to get dressed and ready in the mornings...

When I'm working the boards everyday of the work week is a different shift.

1st shift 4pm-Midnight
2nd shift 2:30pm-10:30pm
3rd shift 8:00am-4:00pm
4th shift 6:00am-2:00pm then that evening
5th shift 11:00pm-7:00am

Have to have a min. of 8 hours between shifts.

It's a rotation that uses constant sleep deprivation but gives you a long weekend. It's the worst possible shift rotation for you health though.
Dude. That sucks.

Damnit! I just realized that his name is ATC... DUH! Air Traffic Controller. LMAO!

Those guys get well compensated for those crappy hours.

Funny, when I first bought the house I used to see my neighbor in the mornings every once in a while, sitting by the pool drinking a beer. I would sometimes be doing the same, and after some conversation we realized that we were trying to do the same thing.... get enough buzz to catch some zzzzz's.

My dad was an ATC as well.

i remember the shift work....0600-1830 or 1800-0630! long days,,,,

normal routine:
up at 0400
gym by 0430 (workout, s/s/s)
home by 0600
coffee/smoke/paper till 0630
to work by 0700.

ideal routine:
sleep till 0615
s/s/s till 0640
gear up and leave the house by 0645.

in all reality, the latter has taken on the 'normal routine' as of late....
