Latest happening. I go into a B&M to enjoy a stick in their lounge for my lunch break and just sit down and light up. And I overhear two of the stores regular fella's a couple chairs away all dressed in shirt and ties talking about people's attire and the one fella is ranting about how classless people are nowadays not dressing to impress all the time. And how even on weekends he still dresses up just not with the tie, and on and on and on.
Meanwhile Im sitting there in my Carhartt jacket, and work pants and doing all I can to resist walking over and snapping these pompous bastards necks with my meaty paws. I just wanted a cigar and an hour of relaxation. Instead Im stuck listening to two idiots stroke each other's egos. After a half hour of this non stop I had to leave. Not worth getting in trouble with the management for me makin a bloody mess in their lounge. They have nice wall hangings, that surely would've been damaged by bodies bouncing off them. Upside is I did finish my stick, just in the privacy of my work truck on the way to the next call.
So to answer the OP's question, what grinds my flippin' gears is people talking down about others in a lounge setting. Keep your arrogant self centered stuff to yourself. A cigar lounge is where ALL should feel welcome.

When someone tells me "yeah, I smoke cigars" so I give them a good one only to watch them chew the end or pitch it half way.
I also hate seeing smoking in the walk in hum. Cmon!

This is easy. When the "Once in a blue moon cigar smokers" ask about the cigar you're smoking and THEN ask if they can try it. Yeah....they want to try the cigar I am smoking at that very moment. WTF...That is a cigar Man-Law no-no

Haha first time I saw an Opus X I was at a lounge and the man next to me was smoking it. So I struck a conversation about it, asking him questions. 10 minutes or so into our talk he asks me if I wanna try it. It was chewed up and slobbery, it took all my concentration to not gag and say no. Nice guy though. But why would that be ok? I also don't use another mans fork.

The one that bothers me is cigarette smokers smashing their butts in my cigar ashtray. I don't know if it will make it smell but cigs are just dirty to me.

Went over to a dudes house that my wife works with for a BBQ. He said he loved cigars, so I told him that if he drove us to his local B&M, I would buy him a smoke to enjoy before dinner. He chose an Opus X lancerrio worth $30.00. Ok, so I got two. One for him and I.

As we were BBQing, we smoked. We agreed that the stick was awesome (it really was), but about 1/3 of the way in, he decided he was done. I asked why - "no reason, just really can't be bothered to smoke anymore."

Mother@$%@$ - a guy buys you a stick, smoke the whole thing or at least have the grace to tell me some BS like it has too much nicotine or whatever!

Then he went on to talk politics as I smoked my stick! Seriously?! Strike two.
You either:
1. Truly love the Mrs. or
2. drank all his good beer and/or liquor

I would have bailed on strike one!

I've had similiar experiences and have to agree. I avoid some local lounges because some guys go in there and then want to put on an act like they are the friggin king of England! Why do people have to play make believe, just enjoy the cigar, the company, the experience. I've met some wonderful people that enjoy cigars and i've had the pleasure of enjoying their company. But then their are some, that can just ruin the entire atmosphere and like Trackmyer said, I just have to leave.

Both are very annoying....

1. When people reference a cigars CA rating like it actually means something.

2. Noobs that try to act like they know everything about cigars.
