Jack White is my current favorite.

Jimmy Page, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Neil Young, David Gilmour, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix and BB King have all been at the top of my list at one point or another.

Stevie Ray Vaughn.....Little Wing. Possibly the most intense test of a guitar man's abilities and style. Only the greats can play Little Wing properly......only a guitar god like SRV makes it sound like gospel. :)
My favorite SRV song. Longer and better than Jimi's. Anytime I play it for someone that hasn't heard it I always get "There are no lyrics?" And my reply is always "No, enjoy". Love that damn song

Have to remember the thread is "your favorite", not "the best"

So many of my favorites have already been mentioned here...Richards, Page, Hendrix, Morello, SRV. White, Nugent, Harrison, Schon....so, a few of my faves that haven't been mentioned yet:

Richie Blackmore
Rod Price
Ronnie Montrose
Brian May
Michael Schenker

Being an Aussie Tommy Emmanuel and Keith urban are both great. Prince is amazing, a concert that lives with me still. But for me John Mayer, cross of Clapton and SRV and can play Hendrix. While he will never be the same as those guys he brings his own touch.

Where do I begin?........My "favorites" are , in no particular order:
SRV,Clapton, Chric Duarte, Robben Ford, Alex Lifeson, Ricky Scaggs, Buddy Guy, Eric Johnson, Sonny Landreth,....etc.
All the old blues greats........!
A newer blues player is a guy named Derek Trucks. Possibly the best slide player ever.

A couple of the most overated, not in any particular order:
Prince, Malmsteen(sp), Slash......etc. Anybody can play an effing scale!

One of my all time faves is Danny Gatton. He was a local boy and was literally one of the very best players in the world. He was one of those guys that most other players wished they were. Look him up.

Recntly, I've grown to appriciate John Mayer. It's taken me a while to get over the whole "Your body is a wonderland" crap.

All this is just one mans opinion.............

This is one of the main reasons he doesn't get more attention for what he's doing nowadays. A lot of people see the name and don't even pause.
