Do you have a link on how to do so
I have a pdf that is written by someone alot smarter than me but i am using my phone to post at the moment.
There are pros and cons between thermoelectric and compressor based cooling systems. Either one can work depending on the circumstances. Thermolectric uses the peltier effect to cool. The pros are that they are small and vibration free. One big disadvantage is that the ambient temp of the room should not be more than 10 degrees over your target temp.
Compressors are much more efficient and able to deal with higher ambient temps. The big complaint with them is condensation but thats more a factor of dew point than the compressor system itself and can be controlled with a drain hose.
if you dont need the cooling than I would just throw some heartfelt beads in there and close the door.
If you actually need to cool than i would go with a compressor unit with some modifications and active humidification.

So I am supposed to get drawers for my wineador from Johns wood work this month. I have the wire racks with humidor trays in it right now. Once I get the drawers I know I have to do something with my cigars while I season the drawers. What's the best way to season the drawers? Is there any way to season them before I put them in the wineador so I can keep all of my cigars in there?

Season them in a cooler, big tupper, or even a garbage bag.
Easier, though, just drop all your sticks in a couple large Ziploc with a Boveda or two and prep your environment whole as you intend it to be when in use.
I can't fit everything into ziploc bags I have a few boxes and hundreds of loose cigars. If I season them in a large Tupperware will I need to air that out before seasoning?

exactly ^ transfer sticks to a tupperdor with the bovedas or KL and season the trays in the wineador for a few days to be safe.. i cut my time short and was battling RH for a little while

edit- whoops didnt see the few recent posts as i had the thread open. if you have a container to season the trays in, even one at a time, that could work.

good luck and enjoy! post up some pics when you get everything settled

Question for you guys. I've always tried to freeze my cigars before putting them in the humi. Is this overkill now that I have a wineador which I store in my basement? I've always done this for peace of mind, but it's a pain in the rear. Wny summers rarely go above 90, and my basement probably doesn't go above 70.

It is a pretty good idea to freeze new cigars for 48 hours, it will help ensure that you do not unknowingly introduce any beetles to your humidor.

I have had a few cigars ruined by them, and it has been my practice for a few years now.

I'm doing well.

Been following this thread since it began. Mrs gave me a wine cooler a little while back to make into a humidor, spent the last few months accumulating parts, now I just need to get off my butt and get it assembled . Cigar Oasis and RH beads for humidification, a computer fan on a timer to circulate air, LED interior lighting throughout and a Ranco thermostat to control the temp more accurately. I really want some Spanish Cedar shelves and drawers, gonna have to get another good side job for that tho.

Still smoking cigars, and an occasional round of golf.

How about you?

I've been housing my cigar collection in 3 coolidors for a while now with the intention of eventually purchasing a large cabinet style humidor or a good sized wine cooler to consolidate everything. I wanted something that would be large enough to handle what I have now plus give me some room to grow and also something that looks nice enough that it won't stand out like a sore thumb in my office in the basement. I was figuring that the large cabinet humidor would probably cost me between $2,500 and $4,000 new or between $1,000 to $2,500 used and a large wine cooler running a little cheaper but still well over $1,000.
Until today......found this guy on Kijiji....220 Bottle Vintage Keeper Wine Cooler. The owner was asking $225cdn and when I emailed him he sent me some pictures and explained that everything works and looks great except the lock doesn't work....not a bid deal I figured. He is located about an hours drive from me so I asked him if he would cut me a deal if I picked it up and paid cash and we agreed on $175cdn cash. This unit sells for $900-$1,000 new. Needless to say I am really happy and cannot wait to pick this up later today :) Here is the info on the unit with a few pics.....
