Spice is exactly what I'm looking for. Glad to hear this delivers. Can't wait to find some time to roll some stuff for myself.
It's strong shit which requires care in balancing (not necessarily one of those things you can slap together 50/50 with your fave seco and be good to go, like some other ligeros, but very valuable for its intensity).

This right here got me all excited to blend something up with it. I may just have to skip a session of club sticks to get something for myself in the drybox

Bliss is right!! I see why a lot of companies blend it with semi sweet Dominican tobacco. @bliss does the Dominican tobacco balance out and calms the spice in the blends that have Nicaraguan ligero in it??

Is the Esteli ligero spicy like a pepper blast, or like kitchen spices of some sort?

I actually never said it was spicy. I said it was intense. But I don't know: I've never smoked a puro of it. Guessing, I'd say more like pepper. The condega is more like kitchen spices, I think.

The Condega ligero has floral notes for me. It’s quite pleasing. (I have to check the leaf bag to see if it’s Condega, could be the other quarter pound of ligero I have). I rolled a few the other evening and tried one last night and one the night before. Both had a very pleasing fruity, floral tone to it.

Just checked. It’s Condega ligero I used. I need more of it.

I’m not finding the Esteli ligero to be overpowering at all. It’s not a pepper heavy leaf for me. Then again we all perceive flavor differently

I’m not a good evaluator of strength unless it’s in the range of raw tobacco, like fronto.
Fronto in a cigar is something I can feel. Other leaf, not so much.

I get the same floral, almost perfumy thing from the condega. I like it a lot.

I've been remiss in posting my eval from the tests I did on LO Nicaraguan offerings. This isn't going to be a full review, but it's what you're going to get.

Condega : Very, very good. This will be a goto as long as I can get it.
Jalapa : Perfect medium body. Seco/Ligero 1:1 makes a wonderful morning smoke. Will also stock as long as it is available.
Esteli : Disappointing. I was really hoping for that big black pepper punch I've come to expect from this region. Meh. Not bad, not good.
Ometepe : Meh. Not bad, not good. Didn't really stand out. Easy pass.

Goddammit Nic, you're costing me money. I'm almost done with my huge club project and now I can start rolling some new stuff. I'm getting excited to do some new blend testing. This project has definitely gotten me to improve my speed and skill though

Yeah, I would have shelled for 4lbs of the condega instead of 2 but I was at my $ limit. I'd be upset if that shit disappeared. So it probably will.

Are you using seco, viso, ligero, or a combo?
Of the condega? I only have the ligero. I don't think there is a viso. I don't have any of the LO nic secos because I use olor as my seco. Incidentally my main ligero is the Piloto, which is very strong, and with which I mix the Nic ligeros in various ratios.

I kinda wish I had ordered a sample of the Condega seco, but I'm pretty content with the Olor.

Have any of you used the WLT Nicaraguan ligero?

In curious about their ligero and viso offerings as far as pepper and strength.

I’ve got some RomaCraft Neanderthal and those things are pepper bombs. I don’t want quite that much zing, but it sure would be nice to get more pepper in home roll leaf.

I used the Habano ligero for a few years. I'm kinda over it right now but it mixed well with piloto. Hard to describe it. Nothing at all like all the C98 ones.
