That’s the end of that. Hard to believe I still love this Bourbon with all the Barrel Proof I’ve been privileged to. I’ve been through at least 4 bottles and it’s one of my favorite bourbons that’s less then 100 Proof. It definitely drinks much higher then 80 to me.

They’re really in need of a bottle update though. The paper design is really cheap

I was thinking about this concept yesterday. Would I rather aim for the stars and spend all my coin on one bottle, or create a dream collection.

Obviously I happily chose the latter

I made a similar decision. I'd like to get ahold of those bottles for the experience, but I won't mortgage my house to get one. When I started buying, I bought a lot of.....crap. SLOWLY, I've been emptying them with a goal of fewer bottles but better product.

I learned the hard way, unlike coffee or beer, local and small isn't always better....

I always say if I can’t get it at retail, then I don’t want it (within reason of course). Some retail pricing is just silly to pay for something you’re buying with the intention of consuming...and it coming out the other end in a not so palatable way, if you catch my drift.

That 2nd to last photo sums it up. I paid not much more then $190 for all 3 considerably rare whiskies combined. Makes it sting less knowing that each time I uncork it. Collecting is fun though. I’ve budgeted to 3 bottles a month; two bottles less then $35 and one $80 or less. This way I can plot out what to buy next and anticipate it. If I want to get a bottle that’s more money, then I limit what I can buy to $25 or less for the other two bottles. Shout out to Evan Williams Bottle-in-Bond at $17.99 lol

That’s a good system. I like it. Gonna give that a try for my 2020 goals.
