  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

How's your day going?

Kind of the same situation here. We left Lake Tahoe two years ago, cuz we were tired of the snow, the riff raff, and the cost of living was incomprehensible.
We had our eye on Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, South Caroliina and North Carolina. Somehow we ended up in Georgia.
For some reason we never considered Louisiana or Mississippi. I can imagine MS is nice though.
I gotta get to Oxford for an Ol' Miss game one of these days.
Anyways, I hope y'all enjoy your new surroundings and home. (y)(y)
MS is a very quiet state and I'm all about it. Being only an hour from the gulf is nice as well. We're still getting our footing and working on the house.

I had a resume consultation this morning. The new version is definitely a huge improvement. I didn't realize how much the format had changed in the last few years.

Now I am going to enjoy a cigar and go see my kid's big recital tonight. Going back to work is going to suck. :ROFLMAO:

I'm working on the sewing room today. We got the plumbing finished in the bathroom so I'm finishing up the soffit around the main sewage pipe.
It's like a million% humidity outside, so I'm glad to be working inside and with around 39% humidity(at least that's what the dehumidifier's reading right now).:giggle:(y)

did a bunch of drywall patching yesterday and smoked some ribs and chicken.

this house used to have a central vac. would've kept it if it was functional, it wasn't. so I'm pulling out all of the wall connections and patching the left behind holes. doing the same with any landline telephone or cable jacks. They also had speakers in the ceilings throughout (because it used to be a community center). So there are lots of boxes in the walls used for running that wiring. Yep getting rid of those too.

As you can imagine its a lot of joint compound and sanding!

I figured out which app my gym uses for selecting music. I had some fun with folks. Unfortunately, they have a lot of stuff blocked. Fortunately, I could still pull up some niche 1990s music. Imagine the look on Granny's face when 1990s era Bay area "Pimp Rap" came blaring out of the speakers.

Spent the last few days in orlando with my kiddo.

His school year in NY ended June 25th and he starts here in MS on July 25th. So I asked what he wanted to do for a short trip (just him and I since I've been mostly gone for eight months) - gave him free reign and he chose the new Universal Theme Park - Epic Universe.

Flew in Tuesday, did the park Wednesday and came back yesterday.

He had a great time and we didn't run into any real hiccups.

I always enjoy dropping "Hey There Fancypants" by Ween when people least expect it.

Dropped $3,000+ on appliances this week. It started out with a dryer that went on the fritz which led to a trip to the local appliance store. Naturally my wife wanted the washer and dryer to match so "we" decided to replace both. Then while we were at the store we started looking at gas stoves. Our current one is a 20+ YO Kenmore with burners that no longer ignite and parts that are unavailable because it is so old.

Anyways, my savings account is sadly a bit lighter now

My wife and kid are at the beach. I'm going down on Tuesday.

I had planned to get so much done today. A list long as my arm. I got in a fifteen minute workout. Other than that, I ain't done a darn thing on the list. The workout wasn't even on the list. I was supposed to go to the gym for cardio. Instead I did some resistance band flows from Judd Lienhard.

I feel a bit lazy, but a part of me just doesn't care. The peace and quiet has been nice.

Got a little rain last evening. 4.5" in 45 minutes. I'll be cutting out drywall in the basement tonight. Water at the street was 3 feet deep and had nowhere to go. Perfect, just before my 4 day golf invitational. If I even get a scratch, it's DEFCON1. So I got that going for me. Best part will be 4 days of booze and sticks. Can't remember the last time I took time for ME. Wooohoo.
