I love heavy metal, as well as most strong music; now, to techno listeners: anyone likes psycho???

For those that don't know what it is:

If some of you guys that like heavy metal but don't like screaming check out the album The Blackening by Machine Head. They do belt the vocals out at times but goddamn can he sing too. Certainly worth a look at. I am still constantly listening to it after two years of having it.

Ah yes, me like Iron Maiden (my very, very first concert and sadly just that one), Led Zeppelin, Nightwish (when Tarja was the vocalist), Pink Floyd, Korn, Pantera (once in a while) Metallica and some other dudes from Spain (Stravaganzza or Saratoga, same vocalist but changed groups)… etc.

I too saw Iron Maiden live. One of the best live shows I've even see. It's almost a disappointment to listen to their cds after the show.

Not a big heavy metal fan, but I do like some of the older metal bands; Scorpions, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin.
Black Sabbath always has been & always will be the best metal band! They gave birth to metal & distortion!

My brother and I just bought tickets the other day to see Nine Inch Nails and Jane's Addiction in Charlotte. Should be AWESOME.

Perhaps the best show I've been to yet though was the Unholy Alliance back in 2006...on the roster that year:

Slayer
Lamb of God
Mastodon
Children of Bodom

Oh yes, third row and my ears wanted to BLEED after that show. Totally worth it though to see Slayer roll out giant upside down crosses made of Marshall amps, haha.

Mastodon is the best heavy band to appear in decades. They've drifted from pure metal more to the prog side, successfully so. To my ear, they are Rush for a new generation. They also do an uncanny Thin Lizzie cover. (I do feel odd though standing outside a Mastodon show enjoying a cigar.)

Any Neurosis fans should listen to Mastodon as Scott Kelly has appeared on their albums. Same is true of Neil Fallon from Clutch and Josh Homme from QotSA.
