• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Dumb question ref: God of fire

What I know from looking at my boxes... The box says 2006 but the bands say 2007 and the box says aged 2 years. Same thing with my box of Serie B. Bands one year later than the box and says aged 2 years.

    Homebrewers - Whats Fermenting?

I just got the ingredients for something similar Ive been putting off. The plan is a chocolate witibier. Hopefully it turns out how I want it to. This weekend I should be kegging my bourbon chocolate stout. I tweaked the recipe a bit jacking up the roast % and mashing @ 162. So far it looks...

    Beetles Found. Help Appreciated.

I think it's an added step that's not really necessary. Then again many say the same about freezing. I've always put all my sticks through the freezer and skipped the fridge. Never had any issues. FWIW I have tried the added day in the fridge but see no difference other than hearing SWMBO bitch...

    Beetles Found. Help Appreciated.

Put the cigars in a bag and suck out all the air then throw em in the freezer for 3 days and thats about it. I usually give them a couple hours on the counter before I put them into storage but Ive gone straight from the freezer to the humi without any problems.

    Beetles Found. Help Appreciated.

If it were me I'd freeze everything. Regardless of the cello you've seen its possible to have a beetle encounter. All the other sticks are under the same risk cello or not.

Thanks man! My caps are definitely my weak point I can never get them to not twist up. They smoke fine though so its not too big a deal. The blend is pretty tasty though the Habano 2000 brings out more of the pepper from the corojo and adds a bit of sweet spice to the creaminess while the...

^ this. Give them a month or so to get acclimated then enjoy. If you want to take your time enjoying the box I don't think you'll be kicking yourself in the ass for it down the line.

Feral Flying Pig - Craft Beer pairing?

Personally it's more about the bitterness and resinous notes I think clash and overwhelm the cigar. IMO maltier styles better compliment cigars especially those that are brewed using roasted malts. A BBA RIS might be a bit much in the heat but a good northern or southern English brown ale...

Feral Flying Pig - Craft Beer pairing?

Would have gone with a BA RIS, RIS, coffee stout or a robust porter. Maybe even a Northern English brown ale. I don't think hoppy beers pair well with cigars but thats just me.
