  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

    Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    I found some JR cigars in the bottom of my humidor that were just over a year old and they were a big surprise. I bought a bundle right after that to start the resting period for those. Maybe this doesn't count if I can't smoke em until August 2018....they were Dominican Montecristo alternatives.

    Here's my setup: You can see my notepad, pen, tape, spray bottle and chaveta all on the left. Out front are the gallon sized bags of cased leaf, just to the right in front is the big trash bag for casing bigger leaf (wrappers or broadleaf binders). Further to the right is a box with newspaper...

    I only ordered a sample of the CT Maduro so didn't get much practice with it but with the veins as big as they are, I removed them. Of course the center rib was removed right after casing, then I took out sections as needed for wrapping. This means you have to plan an overlap but it's not too...

    The rolls from 8/27 were as follows: 1 WLT Nic Hab Seco .5 LO Brazilian Viso .5 WLT Dom Ligero Bound in Piloto Cubano Seco Wrapped in PA Oscuro This started out chocolatey but the first retrohale brought a pepper medley forward and overrode the chocolate. Fairly pleasant now, probably great...

    Trying a fresh stick today, only a few days old. It's 1 WLT NHS, .5 LO BV, .5 WLT DL. Bound with piloto cubano seco, wrapped in PA Oscuro. Had some chocolatey tones at first but the first retrohale brought a pepper medley and lost the chocolate.
